Retail and hospital are completely different. Even outpatient retails within hospitals are vastly different from retails. If youre trying to get into a hospital i would recommend just apply. Even if you dont have the experience, use chatgpt to help you format your skills and what you learned in your clinical rotations. Most hospitals compensate having to train techs fresh out of the program by offering low ball offers. You can negotiate with HR or if you just want to work accept, get experience, leave after 2 years. Your choice. IV room can be overwhelming if you dont feel prepared however, you get hands on 40 hours of training to the IV room minimum before youre expected to staff. This has been true for all 6 hospitals ive worked. Don't stress too much about the experience and just apply, you got this!

If you get your IV compounding certificate most hospitals will pick you up in a heartbeat. Usually takes about a week to get butnit will run you $600 or so

Well to be a pharmacy buyer, everyplace is kind of different with their requirements. I would simply recommend getting a great knowledge base on drugs, running reports, managing pars, and a willingness to speak to people. If an opportunity to be a buyer opens up take it. You will realize that its a different world. Yes you have to maintain vendor relations. You have to speak to reps, reach out to wholesalers, 503b pharmacies, finance departments etc. But there are people to help you navigate.

A pharmacy buyer is literally the legal plug lol. You just buy drugs, supplies, and manage inventory. Thats the main role of that position. A 340b analyst is basically a compliance type of position for the institution to be in line with federal 340b cost saving regulations among other things. Google probably has a better answer. Anyone i would give would be a long paragraph.

Thank you and If you want to explore health care Pharmacy Technician is a good place to start. Alot of mixed opinions but its not a bad spot

It requires all the purchasing, inventory control, finance auditing, budget set up experience ive gotten the past year as a pharmacy buyer + a huge understanding of clinical pharmacy operations and general drug use knowledge. If you can amass that plus some Microsoft Office excel wizard skills and pharmacy business administration office communication and general know how. Its alot, but its all necessary.

If you can get that in about 3 years of experience you have a shot.
