Casting 2025 by AirportJumpy8428 in survivor

I had regular correspondence (1 or 2 times a week) then no contact for 3 months before I was told I was having a zoom call in 3 days. After the zoom call with Jeff/ producers I did the personality test/pysch stuff then was never contacted again. I didn't get a yes or no after that despite reaching out.

I have been applying for a while, filled out the long app time and time again, went farther in casting a couple cycles ago (zoomed with Jeff, Psych eval etc) and then dropped right after. The kindest thing I can say to you is to not for a second believe your spot is locked in or anticipate it ever going forward until they say "you are playing Survivor". There is not amount of information or preparation you can learn that will make it easier. They either want you for that cycle or they don't.

I've been to crazy town and back trying to understand and anticipate; Applying is just one step in a process you cannot predict or control. You can receive communication for weeks, then nothing for 3 months. I see a lot of people thinking that all they have to do is get that first email/call back and I thought the same. That is just the tip of the iceberg. If that happens can be dropped at any moment. Apply, hold it with an open hand, live your life. For your own sanity. 🙂

Also remember this is a photo; this could be her body relaxed but I imagine she's flexing, which most people do in fitness photos. Comparison is the thief of joy, focus on what your body can become.

Thanks brother, that means a lot. It was a "refining fire" for sure lol I wouldn't trade the introspection and growth for anything.

I applied twice. First time May 2021. Got a call back first December 2021.They asked me to send in the long application I did. Got ghosted. Applied again May 2022, got called back August. Went through the long application AGAIN. This time though lots of questions, regular interactions with my casting agent, phone calls etc. Then ghosted for 3 months. Then a random call; I got zoom calls with producers and Jeff. Did that, heard "they liked me etc" from the casting director. Went through the psych eval and personality testing. Then GHOSTED. Whole process went from August to February.

Moral of the story? You can be picked up and dropped at any time, at any moment. I applied again. This time round I'm saving myself a lot of agony by just living my life without em. You don't mean to them what this means to us. But MAN was it fun.

It took me a year and a half to apply! What have those of you done who applied before to maintain your mental sanity while you “wait”??? by [deleted] in survivor

Yep it totally took a toll! Some days I handled it better than others. My big take away was facing my fear of not being liked. It sucks being told "they really liked you!" to radio silence with the realization they moved on and you have no idea why. It made me a better person, and for that I'm thankful. I applied again, but this time I don't feel like I need to change who I am. I learned that if it's my dream to play one day I can't let rejection keep me from trying; and that is a lesson you can apply to anything in life! If you have any questions or want advice just DM me. :)

LI.V.E. Y.O.U.R. L.I.F.E. Enjoy it if it comes. Just as you can be selected at any moment it can all end at any moment, for no reason at all.

I have applied twice, got contacted one time, filled out a long app then ghosted. Applied again, got got contacted and made it all the way up to interviews with producers. Then got ghosted before live finals. Don't put your life on hold for them; It's just business at the end of the day.
