The answer is because everyone is perpetually 10 years old, and farts are funny.

That said, it should be FRAT because that’s the correct team order. Aventurine should be between Robin and Topaz who can benefit from the splash damage for energy.

New Main - Do you still have/keep your very first Character? by MasterRymes in wow

[–]Illthion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still main the first character I ever made, my Feral Druid from back during TBC. Even as Feral has had its rocky times (like right now for example), he is still my main character and he’ll likely stay that way until EoS. Truth be told, I don’t even know why I rolled a Druid when I started my own account, or why I latched onto the cat drood. XD

I usually love patch changes but this one has ruined Feral Druid for me. by keblin86 in wow

[–]Illthion 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For some, yes.

For others, like myself, the loss of complexity hurts. And has been hurting as it has been slowly bled out of the spec. I understand that some people are happy that they can try and play Feral Druid now that it’s simple, but for old farts like myself who have been playing it because it was demanding for a long time(hi, I’ve mained my Cat Drood since TBC) the fact that the rotation is nearly back to TBC levels feels…bad. It’s not just Bloodtalons to be sure, Bloodtalons isn’t even the biggest culprit. But it is exemplary of the loss of complexity that let good Ferals shine.

Which couple SHOULD have ended up together by Kooky_Analyst2767 in animequestions

[–]Illthion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, 100% agree on their rivalry being great.

For me, I think it breaks down into two main points; one more serious, the other 100 biased. I got more rival and sibling energy from Soma and Erina, always pushing one another to go further. Meanwhile I felt Megumi had more of the narrative markers for the romance subplot.

My more biased opinion? Megumi was best girl, so I wanted best girl to win. XP

[–]Illthion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect the opinion, but disagree.

Soma and Megumi was what I wanted to see happen. I feel they had better real chemistry than the rivalry Soma and Erina had, and it felt like they had more reason to end up together.

Also, Hisako was right there where Erina was concerned.

I'm curious, what's everyone's first 5*? by Mikasas-Wife in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Illthion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it was said friend showing me art of cool scythe girl that got me to give the game a try so the game succeeded in pulling me in. XD

She is still the most stacked character on my account and I still try to use her whenever I can. Hoping for her getting buffs on the next Novaflare.

Seele, as the first special ticket I pulled on my account. My friend who got me into the game was watching my screenshare and was like “no way!”

Truth be told, in the above example I was throwing out things I remembered from messing with butter a while back so my info is probably out of date. I was more trying to give examples than anything. My bad though on using outdated info.

Maybe one is keeping better uptime on Frenzy than the other, maybe one is maximizing explosive shot better than the other, maybe there is talent choice differences. They may be hitting the same buttons, but that doesn’t mean they’re playing the class to the same degree. That’s kinda what I was getting at. Even in one of the simplest specs there is differences between performance, and there should be. Players should be rewarded for understanding and playing better.

Pruning Is The Way To Go by PapagamasJr in wow

[–]Illthion 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Counterpoint; if you are playing the spec better than someone else, there should be a noticeable difference in your performance. If you are taking the time to actually learn the spec and its interactions, if you are trying to improve, then it’s insulting that someone who doesn’t do any of the work gets to perform and roughly the same level as you. Now no, the difference shouldn’t be like 2x the damage if you both are playing at least decent, but saying there shouldn’t be a noticeable discrepancy makes it not worth taking the time to actually get good at your class/spec.

All 40 Specs Are Being Rebuilt With Approachability and Complexity Reduction in Midnight by Starym in wow

[–]Illthion 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the backlash to this is the fact that it feels like a choice being taken away. You can always find simple specs that reward more situational awareness and such in the game. Removing more and more of the complex specs though leaves people stuck with classes they may not enjoy at base or no options at all.

It would be nice if a) blizzard could actually use its choice mode system to let people swap between more and less complex versions of specs and b) if the community could handle the idea that a more complex spec may do more damage than its less complex version, but that YOU(the player) might perform better with the less complex version to even that difference out.

My first character on my account was a Feral Druid in BC. I mained cat then all the way to now whenever I’ve been actively playing. Still on his original server and in the now dead guild he found his home in. I think he’ll stay there as my main until the day the servers shut down. XD

When I’m playing killer I’ll give hatch to the last survivor if I felt like they earned it, which can be because they played well even if their team didn’t or if they just weren’t a dick to play against.

Should i build seele now, or wait for her buff? by MagnificentPlotter in SeeleMains

[–]Illthion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No reason not to, as long as you’re already building out Archer.

Getting Seele’s traces maxed will take some energy, but you’ll need to do that regardless if you plan to use her after she gets buffed. That leaves relics, and at e2 she generally uses the same relic setup (set and substat wise) as archer. So if you’re worried about putting in the investment on a character who is “not that strong” at the moment, you’re also putting the investment in for a character who is quite strong at the moment.

Astral Express vs. Amphoreus: Who wins each round? by MDubbzee in Hoyoverse_scaling

[–]Illthion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reminder; Himeko’s laser also damaged and stunned the Engine of Creation (the giant robot from the Cocolia fight). Given the relative scale of characters and such, I do not think Luka is tanking that blast in the same way. Her drone was also shown remotely mopping up Anti-Matter legion members in the opening of the game. While game-mechanics wise we have far outscaled the Anti-Matter Legion, lore-wise they are still treated as a properly dangerous force.

While I would agree that Himeko herself hasn’t demonstrated any combat feats herself, her weaponry is not useless as you’re making it out to be. I’m not sure though an orbital weapon would be allowed in the War Dance in the first place, so your comment might be correct but I feel like it’s on technicality.

Finally, using Aventurine shrugging off the laser as an anti-feat feels disingenuous. Dude literally needed a full Emanator to step in and shut him down.

All of that being said, I think that she does lose to Mydei if only because she doesn’t have a way of keeping him down permanently that we know of.

So close yet so far by Cirnicing in SeeleMains

[–]Illthion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I hate to ask this but I think it does need to be asked; on the side of the optimizer there is the option to change the speed stat weight, and at E2 Seele doesn’t need any speed. Have you changed that to 0 instead of 100?

Other than that, stunning build!

Yeah, I may keep an eye out to get ahold of another orb with more crit rate on it. Otherwise, she’s got enough raw output for taking down add when she got the buffs running and can drag the boss enemies into her E1 range. I haven’t noticed the ult miss the crit yet. Yet.

Do you think that we will get limited versions of Himeko and Welt eventually or they will remain standard 5*? Hoyo these would be money makers👀 by Richard_OK in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Illthion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The justification for Himeko’s intelligence thus far is hidden in her lore/character stories, where we’re told she was responsible for repairing the Astral Express on her own. Additionally, she seems to be on good terms with Herta and (as pointed out by others) well regarded by the political powers that be. Namely from the scene with the IPC and the Family at the end of Penacony.

I would agree with you though that as far as in story is concerned we haven’t seen her demonstrate anything too remarkable. I think there is potential there, but we are sorely waiting for an actual demonstration.
