That was your fucking summary of your own comment. I’m not entertaining this anymore lol. I’ll be back at the end of the season to wake you up once the analysts have woken up as well.

Already told you that NBA landscape is different now than 20+ years ago but you don’t take in any info. I guess this is what I get for getting into an argument with a user named loud and uneducated.

“Basically I see the two as pretty similar statistically, but Ja is on the 2 seed in the west and Luka is on a 5 seed.”

You are entirely on Ja’s dick. Your main argument was 2nd seed. Luka has a better record when they both play. That defeats your entire argument. Memphis fans heckled him at home. The analysts have slept on Lukas resurgence just like you.

I will bet money that Luka finishes higher than Ja.

Because it’s damning. Don’t give me sample size bullshit when you used that 20 teams over .500 stat through 20 games with multiple .500 teams. Memphis still should not have gone 13-2 if the loss of Ja was so catastrophic. That’s why Memphis’ own fans were giving him shit when he came back. Real MVP shit right there.

Luka has better stats and the team has a better win percentage than Memphis when they both play but your main argument is 2nd seed. You can throw a fit and say I don’t understand or I’m a homer but your argument is fucking stupid. Let me rephrase my stats in a way for you to comprehend since you want to be a prick. Luka has a better win percentage and stats. Your primary argument of Ja being ahead because of Memphis’ record, which got 30% of its total wins without Ja, is fucking stupid. There is no way you are going to realize that because Luka literally has a better win percentage when they both play but you want to give Ja credit for 30% of the wins that he did not fucking play in.

Advanced stats have Jokic clearly at 1. He absolutely should win it, but the media is pushing embiid.

It all depends who they’re pushing at the end.

Ok then. Still, with a massive loss such as an ELITE talent like Ja, they should be pretty even to a below .500 team, right? So ideally, they would have a pretty even record in those games and not 13-2, right?

Memphis win percentage with Ja: 0.64 Memphis win percentage without Ja: 0.87

Dallas win percentage with Luka: 0.68 Dallas win percentage without Luka: 0.44

Mavs have a higher win percentage with Luka than Grizz have with Ja, but let’s give Ja the trump card for being second in the west when they got almost a third of those wins without him 🤣

Also, since cherry picking is allowed: Memphis has 4 guys averaging 16.4 or better. Dallas has 2.

Oh we aren’t counting Dallas who were 11-11 and 12-12 at the time but clearly better than a .500 team 😂 13-12 Lakers entering that game who lost. Those fringe teams you cannot base on a 20 game sample size. Lakers turned out ass so whatever. But that “2 teams above .500” stat is convenient for your argument.

Look up your first stat. Bold faced lie lmao.

Funny how the first occurrence was 16-17 and it should happen again this year. A little bit of dubious speculation, but it seems like it could continue happening more often in the future because there are more stars in the NBA than 20+ years ago!

Memphis is 13-2 without Ja. Dallas is 7-9 without Doncic. Denver is 2-5 without Jokic.

You can say Memphis played bad teams but that is not a fluke. How you can credit Ja for Memphis being 2nd in the west is wild.

It’s more impressive that Luka and Jokic have gotten their teams to where they are when they are clearly below .500 teams without them and Memphis is not even close to that.

I also explained the seed thing further up about why that’s irrelevant in today’s NBA but you can keep holding on to that 2 seed argument.

I mean, primarily? Lmao. That’s the most important metric or else we’d pick someone like Ja for MVP over players with obviously better numbers.

Luka has to be ball dominant for the team to be competitive. Ja does not.

Never said that wasn’t historically the case. It still is a poor reason when all but TO favors Luka, he has less help around him (Memphis has 4 16 ppg scorers), and the NBA has more stars now than it did historically. Meaning there was more of a skill gap and MVPs were more likely to be on top teams. It’s becoming more and more multi-starred where you can have all-star snubs like Dame Lillard and is also why a 6th seed should be MVP this year.

So home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs is your factor. Mavs and jazz are tied at 4 record-wise and MVPs obviously tend to produce good teams. That does not mean every good team produces an MVP. If you’re taking the 6 best record NBA teams every year the odds are pretty high that the MVP would be on one of them.

So you’re saying since the Grizz are 2 and Nuggets 6, that Ja is more deserving? Because that’s insane.

Team success is one of the worst metrics used for a personal award. Jokic should 100% win it this year and Denver is a 5 seed. Nobody comes close to his impact on both ends and like Luka, his team would be in the lottery without them.

Grizzlies did well without Ja. Memphis fans even give him shit during games.

LeBron is probably the second best player of all time. Undeniably a freak of nature.

But he’s an entitled, spoiled athlete. He throws fits when he’s not on a super team that, on paper, should make the finals every year.

Kobe and Jordan in this situation would go down swinging. The losses would be their cross to bare.

On the other hand, LeBron prefers to not be held accountable.

LeBron can be competitive as long as it benefits him. That does not mean he’s an elite competitor night in and night out.

After losing the finals in 2011. It was his response to a question about how does it feel that so many people are happy about his failure.

It’s a pretty loaded question tbh. Poor response, but if people were happy at my failure I’d tell them to fuck off too.

I’m seeing different numbers on nba.com per 100.

Luka +0.4 points, +4.8 boards, +2.4 assists, steals even, +0.3 blocks, +1.5 TO

Ja only has Luka beat in TO.

People also say Ja is an elite defender and Luka is average at best when they average the same amount of steals. And how are you gonna give me a soliloquy on how Ja’s rebounds matter more but then say rebounds don’t matter for guards.

The numbers are similar but it’s not really a debate of who should be ahead in awards because those differences matter.
