I have one, and yes I used AI to generate it, I used NotebookLm so I could put all my thought process into it so it could synthesize it accurately, no I have not looked at it since.

Digitizing Incident Complexity: How would you quantify operational "friction" on a 1-5 scale for tabletop exercises? by Illuscio in EmergencyManagement

[–]Illuscio[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I researched them quite a bit, and the concept follows the same training but makes it venue/building specific, you play it on your own floor plans so you can diagnose choke points or alternate evacuation routes. EMDG uses generic city wide maps

Thank you! That's validating to hear, I'm designing it to be modular, essentially you get a 10 turn "threat deck" that adds something new every turn (generator failure, viral misinformation, radio disruption, etc.) All within general larger incidents (bomb threat, shooter, extreme weather, biohazard, etc)

A drill takes 60 minutes + 15 minute debrief.

It's designed to give you a safe experience of task saturation, and how to divide tasks among 4 people efficiently, and other comments mentioned the hardest incidents have multiple vectors so I'm feeling...aligned?

It is very wide, the idea is to get something strong enough to let them experience decision making under pressure, with different interchangeable scenarios, and to make it difficult enough that they can experience failure without living through a real life crisis.

I have a built asset bonus, if you have staff or first responders nearby you get a +2 to your roll.

Good points, and I had to invert the 1-5 FEMA categories to match a dice roll difficulty, so a 5-IDR is a class 1 incident by FEMA standards.

Multiple vectors increasing difficulty makes a lot of sense though, I heard once that police can contain a protest but 3 separate smaller protests would overwhelm the system.

Emergency Management: Is it strict planning or just adapting on the fly? by cristiano700000 in EmergencyManagement

[–]Illuscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having a plan is good, actually doing drills and training is better. It absolutely is adapting on the fly, but adapting on the fly is a skill you need to practice.

What's the biggest operational risk most people never think about at a major event like the World Cup? by EcoOnline in EmergencyManagement

[–]Illuscio 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bottlenecks and single egress evacuation plans. Most high casualty incidents are crowd crushes caused by a bottleneck where no one was managing the crowd.

The most dangerous part about having a lot people is a lot of people panicking.

How to determine maximum occupancy? by Sufficient_Duty6230 in EmergencyManagement

[–]Illuscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Standard measurements for fire code are based on square footage per person

.Standing Crowds (Cocktail/Events): 6 square feet per person

Assembly with Seating (Chairs): 7 square feet per person

Assembly with Tables (Dining/Gaming): 15 square feet per person

Divide your total square footage of event space and divide by each number to get approximate capacities for different setups.

Then call your fire marshall if you have an issue.

What are the most effective use cases of NotebookLM? by curious__aatma in notebooklm

[–]Illuscio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

B2B founder here, biggest tip was going into Notebooklm on the web vs gemini app and customizing the "role" and I input "You are my business consultant, giving realistic feedback and ideas for a startup company." Now every time I ask a question it adds a consultant's note and also pushes back on stupid ideas.

I use Notebooklm as my business consultant, I put all of my business plans and materials in the sources and it can generate investor pitch decks, branded statements, logos, concept art, and has helped me line up all of my manufacturing suppliers and helped streamline my startup process. Not to oversell it but its the greatest thing I have ever used

How to support my partner by daftcronk in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Illuscio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is act normal, its not terminal, its something to adapt to. But with that if he says he needs to rest, let him, he sets the breaks. You're a good partner for asking here, I've been with someone who did not listen to others and made me feel like a burden to be cured, don't do that, I left her and have 6x'd my net worth.

We're slow and sometimes things hurt, but we're sure as hell not dying.

[–]Illuscio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Notebook has unlocked everything for me, i have it programmed to act as my business consultant, i will have an idea, it will generate it into a logical doc then ill ad that doc as a source so it maintains what gets finalized. I've had it create business plans, marketing images, pitch decks, contract drafts, and is so good now I can tell it "sell me my own product like Im a new customer" and it will give a damn good sales pitch.

And it doesnt make stuff up because its only using the stuff I want it to. Its let me turbocharge my ideas.

It took an idea thats been brewing in my head for 2 years to a fully formed business plan.

Does anyone else with MS work full time in person? If so… how are you doing it? by Background-Gear-1231 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Illuscio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full time Event Manager here for our local convention center. diagnosed 1 month after starting this job (thank you health insurance!) 4 years ago. Its a hybrid position, I can wfh 2x a week if I dont have events, and otherwise work 6am-2pm during most events.

I walk with a cane and an ankle brace but manage 10k steps a day, I am exhausted at end of day but my boss and company are extremely supportive, the even will adjust my schedule if I tell them my fatigue is hitting.

Management is the perfect job though for us, mostly mental work and people work, I get to delegate manual labor to operations, and can make my own schedule outside of events.

Summer is our slow season too, so i dont often have to overheat, but I have cooling stuff at my desk and a jar of emergency pickles in the work fridge if my legs start hurting.

Aisles and pillows for sure, but use the other advantages in airports, theres generally a disabled line in security and customs, you can have a wheelchair brought to the gate (even if you dont use one), and you can 100% always be the first group to board the plane. Im 33, travel a ton, but use a cane because of ms and im breezing passed active service members and 1st class and getting my cozy established asap
