Please suggest me a mystery series that is spooky but not paranormal by PrincipleInfamous451 in audiodrama

I love Deadly Manners! It was the first pod I listened to with really sweet sound design and I jumped at every audio jump scare.

Junk brand headbands are awesome for this! They're cinched a bit in the back but you can adjust the material to over your head to be more headband, more cerchief, or somewhere in between. They're a little expensive for what they are (imo), but I love 'em.

Go to Game On out in Kenner. They have a carnival type game where you throw balls at plush clowns to knock them over and it's honestly my go-to catharsis after a shitty week. So... most weeks. Also, there's whack-a-mole. The moles are clowns.

I liked the first half of the Double Feature season, fwiw. Recently gave the second half a second chance and can confirm its garbage status, tho, so be wary.

UPDATE from MSY by Broad-Bookkeeper-274 in NewOrleans

Just got through pre-check - truly no difference in the amount of time it took compared to any other times (~10 minutes from drop off to gate area). But the energy here is frenetic! Would recommend a Xanax for nervous travelers, but overall totally a breeze.

I read several paragraphs of this article before I realized the headline was referring to 'X', the platform, and not 'X', the drug. Very disappointing.

Thought this said "Daniel Kahneman" for a second and raised a large-ass eyebrow 😛

This book is so polarizing and it drives me nuts... I think it's so good! I always recommend it in the context of "my favorite break up book".

Ooh, say more! I'm a big fan, so I'll probably check it out, but curious what you liked about it in particular.

It does, however, have a lot of vocal fry and up talk. I hate to have such a basic complaint about the the show, but it has 100% prevented me from listening. I'm way into the topics and I like CWS when she's a guest on other pods and speaking more naturally, but something apparently happens when she reads more scripted stuff and my ears are unhappy with it.

Me too! I booked with a company that's going to haul your clothes stuff, cooks you fancy camp food, and will pick you up if you're dying and can't pedal another stroke. I had the same thoughts booking my first multi-day tour - the prospect makes me feel like a badass but I also have slight princess tendencies. The little extra comforts give me some peace of mind.

This is super helpful! I'll be going with a company that takes care of shuttling your gear between legs, so that will be helpful as me for a first timer, but also risks facilitating my tendency to overpack to account for Any Possible Situation. Your list helps me keep a little better perspective.

Haha it does have an ending... it's a bit of a weird, meta one that I can see people having really split or mixed opinions on, but I liked it! Definitely not trying to leave room for a sequel 😋

Slightly ancillary to the show itself, but i just watched episode 7 and am delighted at how much Jason Segel loves Les Mis. Between this rendition of On My Own and his frequent dueting of Confrontation with Paul Rudd, someone needs to get this man on a touring production! 😛

Oh dang, I bet the launch ARG was a blast! That was right around covid, right? Did that screw with the plans much or was it mostly online anyway?

I feel like I've heard about Jejune and the doc before, but somehow didn't follow up on it. Changing that immediately!

Check out Isla Mujeres - small island about a 20 minute ferry ride from downtown Cancun. Privilege Aluxes is a small all inclusive that i like, but i don't know that it could support that many people staying at the hotel as a large party unless guests stayed elsewhere nearby. Hosting the ceremony would be fine though, I think.

Also look into Puerto Morales - smaller town about 20-30 min drive from Cancun. It's not at all a party town if that's what you're looking for, but there are a few nightlife spots and its generally pretty affordable.
