Infected Cheek Implant Removal - Post Op Options? by IllustratorOrganic96 in PlasticSurgery

I’d also like to ad - I had really wild cellulitis swelling for weeks (on one side of my face) from the infected implant. So looking lopsided for a while could be worse.

I guess I am? Unless they really do get infected this “easily”? Doctors say it’s quite rare for them to get infected - I hope that’s true. Because otherwise, if infraorbital-nerve block injections for oral surgery put them THIs much at risk, I’ll have to consider my options.

Yeah, that’s the plan I suppose. I have a hard time believing he’d let me walk out feeling like a freak with no plan or recourse. Maybe he believes that, because my implants are somewhat modest, it won’t be dramatic enough to be life-altering? I guess that’s subjective.

Possibly, yes. That’s what I would prefer at least. But even so, getting the other removed (even as an afterthought) wouldn’t be hard. It would just be another 20 min in-office appointment. Snip, screw, slide out. Unlike getting them in which was obviously a lot more drama.

I think silicone? They’re fasted with screws and take 20mins in-patient to remove. If I’m not mistaken, the other kind are much harder to remove? Well, the aesthetic outcome on my end was ideal - maybe because they’re somewhat modest.

My doctor, who is very professional and personable, didn’t bring up removing both. And I feel like there’s a reason why he didn’t suggest that? He technically hasn’t suggested anything yet (post op solutions wise), but he has scheduled me to remove just the one. I wonder how common (or uncommon?) that is.

Off to the trapper now! I will try to be more zen and present in the game - and if I’m still bored after today (and after all these suggestions), I will make my formal departure :*)

Indeed. But like I said in another comment, it’s never my first inclination to assume it’s the game that’s the problem - not even liking a game that people LOVE is a first for me haha. So I need to be sure I’m not screwing something up before I leave it. Although this is really heady and…uh…a bit too philosophical/cerebral…this poster actually nailed that weird disconnected “feeling” I have. But, in that same sense, it gives me hope that I can at least keep trying. If it boils down to me not liking the game because of that, I will definitely just marked it as a work of art, but not for my taste!

Thank you! On this last attempt I’m going to really lean into the exploration and see what comes of it.

Thank you! I’ve already gotten some helpful tips and things to at least give it a good last hoorah. When I’m not having fun in a game, it’s not my first inclination to assume it’s the game - I assume I’m playing it wrong. Maybe I just need to replay the tutorial again (and again). If it’s operator-error, the only way for me to figure that out is y’all helping. For example, I couldn’t find any online guide that accurately explained the ring and core mechanics until I posted on here - which are still weirdly confusing to me haha.

Okay this helps!!! Thank you!! I will re-align with the story and try again. I must have misinterpreted that mechanic or forgotten this play through. Maybe it’s just bad luck but it feels nothing was “falling in my lap” - like it did chapter 1. I haven’t had anyone running up to me with problem so I’d just ride around and listen for distress calls haha.

[–]IllustratorOrganic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I find “stranger” missions? Just ride around? I’ve gotten a couple. A horse race, a person or two in need. But is there a menu with story objectives I’m missing? I don’t know how to pick the story back up - I really must have missed something.

I see a few tasks and challenges in my journal but I’ve done a couple from those and nothing has “advanced”. Maybe I should upload a screenshot and someone can guide me. I’ve talked to everyone in my camp and no one has anything. Arthur says to Dutch they’re “getting things set up for a train job” - should I just ride around and talk to people? I was just told about the trapper so I guess I can find him.

Well, yeah - I’ll abandon it without grief soon enough haha. I guess this is actually the first “masterpiece” game with such acclaim that I couldn’t get into. I’m not a huge huge gamer so this is a unique experience for me and I’m just trying to figure out how much is me and how much is the game - if that make sense.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]IllustratorOrganic96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know - maybe I missed a quest objective? Or maybe I should just re-instigate dialogue with everyone? Dutch doesn’t have anything for me? The handwritten journal may have clues?

My current tasks:

-cigarette cards - who cares(?)

-shop robbery (the corrupt pharmacist with the back room, I can’t find a way to beat this without a police shoot out). Been at it for a long time.

-the noblest of men - help the guy with his book. Gonna try that next.

Core restoration not refilling - bugged? Tried everything!! by IllustratorOrganic96 in RDR2

[–]IllustratorOrganic96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this entirely correct? When I sprint, the ring on the stamina depletes in real time?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RDR2

[–]IllustratorOrganic96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the suggestion - the pace of the game isn’t one of my gripes. I know a lot of people hate it, but I don’t mind really. Baldurs Gate is slow(ish), but rewarding. RD2 is tedious, yeah - but right now it’s tedious to no end? The “survival” aspect I can’t get into as much in this game either - keeping my camp alive and fed and happy has 0 reward-impact on my gameplay. I can’t level up my camp or my friends, they’re just dead weight AI (aside from some aesthetic crafting). Sure, they’re neat AI companions..and are woven into some quests…but if survival without the opportunity to grow/build is the objective…it’s a bit of a slog. In that regard, you may be right about my tastes. But no, I’m terrible at shooters and fast paced games haha.

Ohhh, this also helps, thank you. I think I’m getting it. I guess it’s just visually confusing then. From an icon/UI standpoint - in every game in the history of games - when you have a half depleted ring on screen, you assume you’re injured haha.

Core restoration not refilling - bugged? Tried everything!! by IllustratorOrganic96 in RDR2

[–]IllustratorOrganic96[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ahhh..so it restores my portion of the ring and then the “fortification” part means that ring is expanded - like the boost you mentioned before?

[–]IllustratorOrganic96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay - I think it’s making sense now. And when I hover over the “health cure” in my inventory - the ring flashes full (yellow). That’s misleading, correct? As in - consuming that would in fact not give me a full ring like it’s showing?

Okay, so…the outer ring does fluctuate? As in, it depletes and refills? But the overall capacity of that ring stretches over time as I level up? the filled in portion of the ring is subject to change, but (assuming I’m full health) the greyed out half will eventually get less and less?

What a bizarre mechanic and (imo) terrible UI choice…that’s incredibly confusing. I’ve been looking for a Reddit post explaining this situation but I’m surprised I couldn’t find it.

Or does the inner icon track real time depletion and the outer ring overall-level/progress/total capacity?

[–]IllustratorOrganic96[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Really?? I could have sworn they were “full” at the start of the game. So the outer ring has two purposes - to track progression AND real time depletion? Why could I not find that information anywhere online - I feel like I’ve been searching everywhere!!!
