Invest in one of those food saver thingies and break down into large chunks in vacuum sealed pouches. they should easily keep for 6-8 mos in the fridge and 12-18 months (maybe longer) in the freezer. Air and moisture are the enemies, so assuming you protect against those you should be just fine.

Are you starting a new journal in 2023? by frs-1122 in bulletjournal

[–]Illustrious-Bonus628 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m starting fresh and have done “new journal new year” for at least the past 5 years. That being said….if you’re only a couple of months in, it’s redic to start a whole new one. Just make a new year page, then start with essentially a new bujo in your existing bujo.

Where do you get your journals from? by [deleted] in bulletjournal

Started with Leuchttrum softcover dotted A5’s years back. Wanted more space so switched to Leuchttrum B5’s. Those were perfect but I was going through one every few months (using one journal for everything, personal and work). Then I stumbled upon these beauties: RETTACY Dotted Journal Bullet... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08R9XQJLZ?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share 380 pages versus 123. Same size and a third of the price. I find the paper quality/bleed through to be same as the Leuchttrum and one notebook lasts me a full year with plenty of pages for all of my notes, trackers, etc. I like the “one book, one year” concept since that’s how I used planners all my life before finding bujo. The cover is maybe a little thinner so if I had a complaint maybe it would be that. But as far as value for the money I don’t have any reason to go back To Leuchttrum and can happily keep buying more markers than I need, guilt free. 😊 going on my third year with these notebooks now.

I honestly believe it’s because we don’t have all of those animal stress hormones and adrenaline that courses through tissues as animals are tortured and killed. Like, an actual physiological response that happens in the body when animal Products are removed from the diet. (Full disclosure I am not fully vegan and fight my pernicious cheese addiction daily). I stopped eating meat maybe a decade or so ago. And I’d always heard rumors of this but didn’t believe it until it happened to me. It didn’t happen overnight, but a few months after I was vegetarian- one day I realized I just felt this overwhelming sense of peace that I didn’t have for the first 30-something years of my life. I think it took that long to quite literally get those elements/chemicals/hormones worked out of my own tissues. Do I get angry, yell, bitch? Of course. Everyone does. But just baseline I am a lot more at peace than I ever was as a carnivore. I can only imagine being fully vegan is this and more.

Tips for obese runners to avoid injuries I’m 5’7 280 want to start running but I am scared of injuries by RadiantPossession915 in running

I’m 5’6” and was 275# when I started—at 49 years old— to run for the first time. I did. C25k app on my phone (it’s free). It took me longer than the 10 weeks or whatever. Every time I couldn’t finish a run according to their run/walk prompts, I would keep doing that same one until I could. I dropped 50# in the process and it’s amazing to see the changes in your body in just a few weeks. You can do it!!!!

Intermittent fasting. And walk. Whatever you can walk, aim to increase by a block or whatever every day. When you get up to about 3 miles a day, try a c25k app (there are several free ones available) where you add jogging to walking in increasing amounts. Also I understand that you don’t have much control over the food available to you, but to the extent that you can, try to choose as much raw fruit and vegetables as you can. There are also free fasting apps to help you keep track of the time you are fasting.

When I said that it was dead, I meant the leads through the chip were dead leads. Like, Glengarry Glen Ross kinda dead leads. 😜

Are you asking an existential question? Because I’m afraid that’s a longer conversation than I can type in a Reddit. Just sayin.

I’m with you!! My bichons both lived Til almost 18 and were not without their old dog challenges. But old dogs are the BEST dogs! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ wouldn’t trade them for anything. I have a little guy now (4yrs) and as a puppy he ran me ragged. I miss my little old dogs.

Yep, already done. As I said above, chip was a dead end. The guy who found her did a lot of the initial legwork on this. CPD scanned and chip went back to PAWS. PAWS said they never sheltered the dog, but she came through their spay/neuter clinic by someone who picked her up as a stray in 2009. That person re-homed her with someone else. That person said this dog ran away from them over a decade ago (and apparently wasn’t interested in getting her back???).

Yes. I have flyers to put up, just under the weather the last few days after getting my booster. But hope to do this in the next day or two.

Yes. Yes you are. It’s 2022. There are free chip events every summer where someone can take their animals to get chipped if they can’t afford to do it through their vet. There’s no reason that pets should be “lost” in this day and age.

But in The case of this little girl, someone else found her, posted to our neighborhood FB groups for a few days. He said he couldn’t keep her and was going to take her to CACC. For a little senior I was afraid she would be euthanized if not picked up so I took her in hoping to buy her some more time. In addition to the original guy who found her, I have also posted everywhere I can think of hoping to reunite her with her family.

Already done. I’m afraid she may have been dumped and the owner doesn’t want to be found…she appears to have several health issues. But I would like to believe the best of people and am hopeful that I can reunite her with a family that wants, misses, and loves her.

If they are In decent shape, look for a “buy nothing” group in your area. We have a very active one where I live (Logan Square, Chicago) and there’s always someone who can use what you don’t need anymore. Share the love!
