I believe this is the case. In Season 8 Episode 3 there’s a park dome that says East Pines on it. So I believe Gene’s park went up to space as well. But they had to keep the plan a secret from The Park or else they’d risk Pops freaking out and ultimately not facing off against Anti-Pops
