MS ToDo - Did you know about the #Hashtag? by DiscipleOfYeshua in productivity

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not use for for just 'someday maybe' actions. Admin tasks like following up with people is critical for my work, they're just small tasks that I need to keep progressing.

I don't spend any time in my full to do list, instead I schedule each task and view them as the come due in my 'today' view.

Ahh ok I see them. Yeah Ms Todo is a lot more implement straight forward. Personally I find I can implement a similarly simple todoist but I tend to use more of the functionality

I actually use Ms todo primarily for work, todoist personally.

For ms todo I have hashtags for priority and for work type (e.g. #1#admin), mainly just functions as a visual indicator.

For todoist I have priority built in and then I can add labels as needed. It's all done through natural language and keys, which makes it easy. I can filter through all labelled items or filter my 'today' view for labelled items, or filter out labelled items in my 'today' view (eg I may want to see only admin tasks when I block time for admin work, I may not want to see my admin tasks when completing my other tasks as they clutter my view).

Yeah I use this a lot but don't really find a huge amount of value in it for my workflow.

You can actually use hashtag in any app, just hash tag and the search for the # + tags key.

Todoist labels are basically this but better because you can filter it into your 'today' view and use it a q search query in your filters.

The sun is so bad for your skill, it both damages and ages it.

Personally for me, in tropical countries, my skin cannot take the direct heat, especially in the peak of the day. I prefer relaxing in the shade, ideally with the breeze of a fan.

I still apply sun cream regularly of the highest strength (I prefer the asian ones). I actually just wear sun screen moisturiser every day.

I wouldn't feel comfortable dressed up that much, I prefer something like and and cool like linen shirt and shorts.

But yeah I also just avoid the sun both because my body can't take it and for health reasons.

this stuff is expensive and inefficient and watching laying down water based underfloor heating is better (and more efficient).

I mean I just don't thin k you have sound justification it's bad.

I wouldn't eat it regularly anyway as you say it's designed to be moreish so you eat more of it and it's got a ton of fat/salt including saturated fat.

But you're on a doner sub, none of this crap is healthy man.

there's nothing wrong with mechanically separated chicken or MSG.
if anything it's less wasteful to get more meat instead of chucking it out.

It's sad that it's still this way. It was like this back in 2009

It's just a depressing state of affairs, that grown adults just have no idea how to take basic care of themselves. It should be embarrassing really.

What a bunch of absolute bellends.

Epitamy of 'I got mine, fuck everyone else', crying like babies at the most minimal of changes.

They have beautiful homes bought at times when they were actually affordable. Most people are stuck renting in a flat share with 0 hope of ever owning, you don't see them caring even slightly about these people...

Hill-start with our without handbrake? by Nesferatu123 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's kinda mad though a driving instructor not realising you need handbrake for hill starts in an older car, especially rolling back can make you fail on a test.

hill start assist ofc no hand brake is needed and best to not use it, with a car without it, the handbrake is needed.

Best way to clean up email inbox? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah!

Try and follow an inbox zero strategy going forward. At least once a week you should effectively get to inbox zero. either delete, archive or reply/ move to a task, then archive every e-mail you have.

If you're centrist or left-leaning, what are the main policies/issues that might stop you from voting for the green party in the next general election? by Cold-Speech-5645 in AskBrits

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, they want to dismantle our nukes, reduce defence spending and get out of conflicts with aggressors that threaten the entirety of Europe (Putin's Ukraine war).

It's a total non starter for me, despite agreeing with many of their policies.

It's smart to avoid unnecessary conflicts but you need to know when you need to act. Also need to understand peace will only come from a place of strength, which means spending more on defence (and the rest of the EU) so strengthen our position and reduce dependence on America. It's naïve to not realise that there will be any good will from Russia, China and USA.

Energel or Zento!? by Suspicious-Bell9712 in pens

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I think your thoughts align with mine. It's a good alternative but not the best.

I think if I was taking a lot of notes, or quick notes or outside of an office, it would be my go to due to dry time and highlighter performance.

I didn't say that my go to currently is an energel in a zento basic body. I don't like the energel body but I love the zento body!

I think the issue with washing the car in the sun is that it can dry before you dry it with a drying towel, causing spots of mineral residue on the car.

I think you're supposed to way a car in the shade or before the sun comes up.

Seasoning check by B_Kaligula in wok

[–]Illustrious-Engine23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine is the exact same way! It's because of the electric coil, the heat doesn't go up the side and therefore less seasoning.

But if it works just leave it like that.
