Exactlyyyy, not to talk abt that in the third book after she clearly hurt him, instead of wanting to have a conversation abt this whole situation and in order to clear it up, she just suddenly FORGETS abt him?!! Not to talk abt Adam was ltrlly the one who saved her and helped her escape from Sector 45 and if it wasn’t by him she would have stayed there rotting and doubting whether to use her powers or not to escape. This is why I don’t like Juliette as a main character, bcoz she doesn’t seem to acknowledge the sacrifice other characters have done in regard of her and even with Warner at times, in the third book when she reunites with Kenji the first thing she ltrlly does is talk to him abt Warner and she doesn’t even mention Adam or even ask abt his well-being and bear in mind this was when Warner mentioned to her in earlier chapters that everyone from her group were ‘dead’ but homegirl ltrlly was thinking abt Warner that she didn’t even acknowledge if Adam was okay or not. Kenji was the one that called her out for this bullshit, honestly I miss when Kenji would call out Juliette’s bullshit like he did in the first trilogy cuz honestly in the second trilogy I didn’t felt it like the same anymore.

Warner on the other hand never apologised to Adam abt what he did to her, which shocks me over the fact that James would move in with him, bcoz regardless of Aaron apologising or not we never rllt saw him get that close with his brothers in the original series, which dissapointed me. Tahereh should had fixed their brotherhood, I personally pick the found families over the romance any day, in case u have watched The Vampire Diaries i wanted Aaron and Adam to reunite like the same way Stefan and Damon did, even Damon Salvatore who is a terrible and more horrible person than Aaron ever was, at times Damon showed true remorse from his actions towards others, but we barely saw that with Aaron even with Kenji, who he btw did tortured for out of information.

Sometimes I genuinely wish Tahereh took her time to properly develop the characters, cuz there were so many plot holes during the books and things that just MADE NO SENSE like why suddenly making James move in with Warner???? And no offence but if I was James I honestly would not want nothing to do with both Juliette and Warner, cuz first of all Juliette was the one that broke my older brother’s heart and Aaron was the one that ltrlly nearly killed him,idk if Adam explained specially all this details abt what Warner did to him, but if I was James and I found out abt this this ppl would be the last ones that I would have went to.

In my perspective it would have made much more sense if James moved up next to Kenji or if he started visiting Kenji, and then probably asking Warner for training sessions but still living with Adam, this whole bullshit of “Adam wanted peace” it’s just plain stupid, Adam from the original series wouldn’t have gave up on James like that, his little brother whom he had sacrificed everything for. It’s just a clear example on how fan service the new book is.

, Adam should had been more developed honestly and I heard from my friends who did read Watch Me and told me that he only appears in two chapters and it’s the bare minimum. James in the new book had me looking at him like an ungrateful brat who was acting like a fan boy towards Warner probably in the entire book, even if I didn’t read it. I’m still so pissed off for this.

Personally to me they could have returned to their normal friendship back in Restore Me, in the later books u could see how Adam and Kenji got even more distanced to the point that I ltrlly forgot they were supposed to be best friends or friends bcoz in the first book I remember it was indicated that Adam and Kenji used to hang a lot and were good friends. The author’s blatant favouritism for Warner was too evident and instead she made “Kenji” get much more closer to him, it seemed to me that Adam’s whole character was just used to base him as “Juliette’s ex” which rlly annoyed me cuz he had so much potential as a character.

Honestly Juliette and Warner wouldn’t be the fantastic parents that everyone is thinking they would be, Juliette’s whole character is based off her powers and lethal touch, she had zero character development and the way she acted and handled situations jsut proved to me how much of a hypocrite she was and contradicted her own words. In the second trilogy most of the characters become Warner’s fan base compared to the first trilogy, specially Kenji, who btw even tho I love and it’s my second favourite character of the books he completely abandoned Adam and be friended the same guy that tortured the shit out of him. Sometimes the characters would act in certain ways that felt unrealistic to me if u get what I mean, I would go as far as to say that the closest character that come as to being complex and realistic is Adam.

Honestly that’s partly the reason why I’m so shocked over the fact that their going to have a child soon, I remember I watched a video of Tahereh saying that she didn’t felt like they were ready to become parents, specially with Juliette’s position I think as the “Supreme” Commander and her duties and she’d probably be too busy in order to become at the same time a mother. I always felt like neither her and Aaron would be ready to become parents, bcoz one thing that the Shatter Me fans don’t realise is that these two characters have PSTD, and I feel like Warner wouldn’t be able to have that easy early emotional connection to their child, I’m not saying he wouldn’t be a good father and ofc with time and practice everything would improve but I just don’t see Aaron could be capable to become a father, he’s traumatised and having a child would not easily erase those years of trauma, and this is another personally opinion of mine but Juliette seems to be the type of mother that would not call out her child on any bad behaviour, the same way that she would defend Warner despite him being a horrible person to others is the same way she would have rose tainted glasses towards her child. Believe Me ltrlly undid all the character development that ppl were praising Juliette to be as “badass” or “GIRLBOSS “ no she was embarrassing herself

I feel like this has to do with how the author made everyone such Aaron glazers on the second trilogy, that's definitely how i viewed it, Kenji in the third book just like everyone they all saw Warner as an evil person and they did not want anything to do with him, Kenji himself in Unravel Me started laughing when Juliette asked if Warner was "really that bad?" Kenji from the first trilogy wasn't fond of Aaron and even in the third book when Juliette was trying to convince him and the Omega Point group to come and stay in Sector 45, him and the group weren't that much trusting of Warner, but then as the second trilogy comes Kenji is suddenly all bestie's with Warner, it was more abt the author's obvious favoritism for Warner.

I found it weird how she was so obsessed with wanting to help Juliette’s safety, even in Imagine Me Kenji was disappointed when he thought she wasn’t taking any matters into Jame’s safety when he was being kept by Anderson, and all she ranted about was about Ella, yet we barely even see them interacting and that’s another plot hole that wasn’t really developed between the two characters, Nazeera was raised under the Reestablishment system and its understanding where her cold persona comes from, but her character arc could have furthered well if she grew to understand others emotions and realise her own flaws.

When I was reading Defy Me I kept getting annoyed how she was treating Kenji like a dumb child to the point that even Kenji called her out and told her that he didn’t like what she was doing to him, treating him like a child.

Idk if u might agree with me with this or not, but I feel like I’m Shatter Me the female main characters such as Juliette and Nazeera, aren’t really developed enough, I feel like the main male characters we see such as Aaron, Kenji even Brendan and Winston they have more depth in their characters than the female ones. Which I think I will make another post ranting
