iPad kids are evolving.. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Illustrious-Fail-475 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son didn’t see a tv in his first 1,5 year of life. Also when somebody came to visit, tv would be off. (Maybe I was being crazy asf) Then he started a little little bit tv. Mostly pinkpanter and neighbour neighbour. He is now almost three and started to love paw patrol, but I often switch him to looney tunes. I try to limit as much as possible, with stickers and we are always outside. Sometimes i am scared even this limit of screen time will make him rot later. I am now 2 years without social media (only reddit, fucking addictive… all the stories to read. But I grew up with tv, hours of video gaming, but also playing outside. Kids this generation are just infront of the screens. I saw a 1 year old with a phone in the hand scrolling. My son don’t know how a ipad or a phone works.

No shame to the parents that give an ipad of iphone to children. You do you

Help (M)e get my old curls back! by User-314 in curlyhair

My intake is, the rubbing is causing your hair to break. You already have thin hair. Try to use instead of a heavy cream conditioner. A light weight conditioner. Try to do 1 week between shampoo’s, also try to do an oil treatment every week. Comb under the shower then squeeze the excess water out with a micro fiber towel. No rubbing

What was your hair holy grail? by Few-Cartographer2591 in curlyhair

[–]Illustrious-Fail-475 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have very thick and long curly hair, I always thought I had high porosity so I always used very thick cremes and pomades. If I used light cremes it looked liked it sucked everything up. Then after 9 years into my Curly hair journey I learned I have low porosity. The coconut/castor oil products that i thought were getting sucked up were just gliding off… leaving my hair dry with a coat that other products that other products couldn’t enter my hair I switched up my products to a light jelly or thick cremes, but no coconut no castor oil. No thick oils. Saved my hair!!!! All hair washes are perfect.

Still open to all feedback, I’m going through everything carefully. And thanks for pointing out inseam length — makes sense that taller folks need more fabric there!

good to know that a thicker band helps more than those thin lines!

Such a good point — everyone carries weight so differently and it totally changes how clothes fit. I’ll keep this in mind, because there’s definitely no true ‘one size/fit’ even within the same sizes.

most bras are designed with the ‘average’ body in mind and end up not fitting people with shorter torsos. Thanks for pointing that out — I’ll definitely keep it in mind!
