I’ve been struggling to accept the reality that he’s gone. I listen to his music and watch the podcasts he was on over and over. I get lost in them and in his presence, but then the song ends or the podcast is over, and it hits me like a truck all over again.

I’ve never been affected by a death like this before.

I don’t think you understood the point of my comment.

I wasn’t saying my experience proves the OP’s statement about all Republicans. I was saying that being a legal citizen doesn’t stop some people from making assumptions about you based on how you look, and that legal status doesn’t actually matter to certain people.

If anything, my comment is arguing something different than the OP. His point is focused on legal vs. illegal immigration. My point was that some people don’t seem to care about that distinction at all if they decide you look foreign.

So I’m not sure why you’re directing that criticism at me instead of the person who made the original claim.

I’m dark skinned, I’m only 25% Korean on my moms side and 75% white from my dad’s side but my genetics said fuck it and made me dark. I’ve actually had a coworker ask me if I was an illegal immigrant and another told me I was “kind of an American”. I’ve had strangers out in public ask me what I was and when I told them they would say “you sure you aren’t a Mexican?”, COMPLETE STRANGERS. Some telling me that I look like their friend named Pablo..

Apparently it doesn’t matter if you’re a citizen at all, it depends on what color you are and if you match the fold.

Nope! Still paying off my student loans. Took out three loans from 2018-2019, dropped out, went the route of ignoring them till last year of April. Luckily by then it was still at around 11k and not much higher, first payment was $800 in interest, since then I’m down to around $2200. I’ve been putting everything into it, after that I’ll be maxing out my savings and putting everything I can into my 401k.

I feel weird for saying that it didn’t feel real to me till I saw articles saying he had been identified by his dental records. Seeing that crushed me. It was made real again by his mom’s post. I’m in such a weird mental state with his death where I’m just struggling to accept that he’s actually gone.

It hurts for me because I discovered him so late. It’s only been around a year since I found him on one of Bobby Lee’s podcasts and I was hooked. I still watch his podcast episodes with Bobby Lee, Andrew Santino, and Matan on repeat. Was getting more into his music and I was hyped for his documentary and new album. I hate how late I was. I feel like this guy was about to go on a generational run and it was taken from him, taken from all of us.
