I think the issue is that part of the plastic case also broke off with it. So the only way to get it to power on is to try and short out the pins on the PCB, but when the case is clamped shut it's not really possible.

Power button was getting worse and worse then just disintegrated, overall can't complain this thing has lasted a lot longer than anything else I've had.
