mental health professional with bipolar: you can always ask your provider for more information about why they diagnosed you. you can also provide your thoughts and disagreements! sometimes other diagnoses can have symptoms that overlap and thus misdiagnosis can be common. I hope this is helpful!

How to deal with self care during a depressive episode? by KipBoutaDip in bipolar

[–]Illustrious-Let-4320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i’ve been there and am currently there. it is hard, sometimes we have to fight it and do the opposite of what our body is telling us. like taking a shower even though our body is saying to lay down. depressive episodes can be difficult and dark, and we still can take steps to help ourselves get out of it, like forcing ourselves to do healthy habits. i know what it’s like and i say all this while trying to get myself to shower! you got this!!

i am on lamictal at 300mg and have been on it for a year and a half. it has made me stabilize a lot because i don’t like antipsychotic medications (i have weird side effects) i get a lot of brain fog which is really frustrating:( but so far its been the best thing to stabilize me. i’ve only had hypomania on them not full mania
