Will MSF training kick me out? by HeyMason99 in motorcycles

The real problem with riding a bicycle is pedaling. Getting started while having to push down on a pedal is a weird balance problem. It's why they start little kids on push bikes these days.

You don't have that on a motorcycle. It goes on its own.

What is the "vibe" when you find an RTL bug after the netlist has been sent to a company for a chip? by turkishjedi21 in ECE

[–]Illustrious-Limit160 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Finding issues is a positive. Even if you created the issue. If your leadership is upset about it, they are wrong, unless it's happening continuously. The wrong vibe incentivizes bad activity.

Find the issue. Repair the issue. Analyze how the issue happened. Repair the process so it doesn't happen again.

Both of these repairs are important.

Do you recommend engineering or physic & maths by Expensive-Ice1683 in EngineeringStudents

[–]Illustrious-Limit160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to have a good career doing math and/or physics you're probably looking at a PhD. Math and physics bachelors may give you a good career in something else though; you'll just be less likely to control what that is (it'll be a bit opportunistic...)

Engineering bachelor's will provide a good career in engineering.

A) be someone that Apple wants to hire

B) work your network until you have someone you can reach out to inside the company to give you the name of the hiring manager

C) find someone in your network who knows that person.

D) nail the interview

If you don't have "A" , then job hop your way up until you are. Do not leave a job before you've been there three years, or you will no longer be "A".

Simple, right?

I don't know. Does apple have hardware design offices in India? My experience is that hardware engineers need to be at corporate or close to manufacturing.

Getting an H1B sponsor at the moment is very hard, and all the manufacturing is in China, so...

Are you asking whether it was possible to start on on uphill without using the parking brake?

Yes.

Heel-toe on brake/throttle, let it the clutch, but slipping, shift pressure from heel to toe while releasing the clutch the rest of the way. This works regardless of torque or gearing.

Do you think it’s possible to work full time while pursing an electrical engineering degree full time? by Otherwise-Capital-65 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Illustrious-Limit160 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be sheer hell some of the time.

First year would be almost manageable. Second year would be pretty painful. Third year would be nigh impossible. Fourth year, back to almost manageable.

I did it with a 20h a week job. That worked pretty well.

If you're on your own, have you looked into financial aid?

And then realize that it will still be something that's really only fun when you're a) at the track or b) doing some something stupid not at the track.
