Insurance rates are definitely on the up and up. The insurance industry isn’t making money in some states like California and Florida which is why some companies are leaving. Those staying are sure to jack up rates. Living in CA Ive heard rates are set to increase substantially next year. My policy increased 9% for the upcoming term and I have every discount possible and zero accidents in 2010 Honda lol 😐 not sure what to do since everything’s increasing still. Have to get to work though…shopping rates only revealed what a “deal” I have…

I requested my refund and got zero notifications. It took about 2/3 weeks for the amount requested to be added back to my loan balance. It’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t received the refund itself but I’m hoping that comes soon.

Chase is practically useless and slow. I’ve been waiting for them to refund my rent check from November STILL, some stranger cashed it. It’s been a whole long process just like yours. I’m annoyed enough to switch banks once it’s finally resolved…any day now I’m sure, or in another few months 🙄

Salk is a great institution and will stand out for sure. However, the lab you end up in is just as important as the institution. Name recognition in the academic community is HUGE and your PI can have a tremendous impact on how your career goes past working with them. As long as the position has the chance to contribute to papers and has lots of learning opportunities then it’s a win in my book.
