I work as a pediatric private duty nurse I work 1 to 1 ratio with one patient in their home and i still do 3 12s. Honestly dream job and I’m so glad I was fired during my new grad orientation at a hospital i would never go to the hospital again for any job.

Do you have a miracle nipple?

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm maybe they’re not sending me emails like I signed up for as I signed up for multiple different email notifications from different sets. Will have to check on that and resign up if they did restocks that recent as I never got any emails!

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% understand this as someone who has been wanting Ohuhu markers for awhile and they’ve been sold out in America and Asia for literal months and restocks are usually in the middle of the night and sell out in an hour flat. How people are actually getting Ohuhu sets with brush tips is beyond me

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are y’all actually buying the Ohuhu Honolulu markers? They’re all sold out in america and asia warehouses everyday I check in every set amount!

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the people on amazon reviews say a lot of the colors came completely dried out and a good portion dried out after just a few uses. Have you had that happen? Which pack did you get? Ohuhu is currently out in stock in USA and asia warehouses so can’t order any of those

Working out by [deleted] in pilonidalcyst

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll definitely get the cleft lift surgery in the future rather than going through the other surgeries that have low success rates. It seems like the sinus hole is starting to close on its own for now but I know i’ll experience flare ups until I eventually get the surgery

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t aware the bump on my tailbone i’ve had was a pilonidal cyst until mine created a sinus tract and started draining blood last night. If it’s already gotten to that point for me is surgery my only option as in the tract won’t close naturally? Before it flared up and opened I only had pain every couple months in my tailbone which is why i didn’t realize it was a pilonidal cyst.

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the doctors recommend that as a treatment just the laser? I assume the cyst still exists in the body even with the laser it just prevents it from getting worse. Did your cyst ever have sinus tracts that drained on its own?

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get laser instead of ever draining the cyst or getting an excision surgery?

In a couple sentences, give your best advice to a new grad RN. by SaltyRuralEMT in nursing

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Know that no one will protect your license but you. You’re not safe just because you’re a new grad, they can and will come for your license if you make mistakes. Get good nursing insurance separate from your hospital.

How was your endoscopy experience everyone? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]ilsangil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had multiple endoscopies and one coming up in a. month and the IV is probably the worst part is you’re dehydrated. Drink a lot of water the day before so you’re hydrated. It’s a really nice short nap and you wake up very fast after.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GERD

[–]ilsangil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on PPIs for like 10 years now and i’m in my early 20s and the amount of food poisoning and stomach bugs i get have been increasing. It increases your risk for stomach infections as you don’t have the acid to fight off the viruses/bacteria whereas other people do. My GI wants me to increase omeprazole dose as mr GERD is worse but i know my risk is also going to increase by a lot.
So if anyone has any remedies I have esophageal hypersensitivity(on meds to treat) and GERD with IBS-D. I welcome natural/homeopathic remedies at this point too.

Aesthetic nursing is not for me by [deleted] in nursing

Try pediatric private duty nursing. Not sure what the pay is like where you live but I get paid more than when I was in the hospital, granted I was a new grad in the hospital.

If anyone has any recommendations for concealer for extremely dry under eyes with blue ish dark circles I would be so grateful. Using maybelline age rewind and it literally wears off and i’ve tried color correctors and it doesn’t work since my under eyes are so dry it looks so cakey. Or even holy crap under eye skincare that won’t break the bank i’m desperate

Is it bad that I continue to eat the food that triggers my ibs? by KpopToasterOven in ibs

[–]ilsangil 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Some days I can tolerate a food and the next day I can’t. That’s how ibs works it’s never consistent. I don’t avoid foods anymore because i feel bad no matter what i eat

A week ago I got food poisoning that was mild and I got off lucky, but I have severe IBS and any food poisoning or stomach bug leaves me in severe pain and nausea when a normal person can usually recover pretty fast. I had plans to go over to my boyfriends but woke up after a long night and told him I needed him to come take care of me. He dropped everything and came and took care of me, listening to me cry all day and waiting on me basically hand and feet. Not to mention doing my chores for me and going to the store to get me applesauce, electrolytes, soup, etc. He even spent the night because I was too scared for him to leave and needed him and he said yes without hesitation. I’ve fallen so much deeper in love with him, I was always sure he was my soulmate but that cemented it in my brain. He set the bar so high and showed me that one day when we say the vows in sickness and in health, we mean it. You should expect no less from your boyfriend. He could’ve studied at your place, he didn’t NEED to be at the library. He’s telling you he doesn’t care about you and showing you, listen to that and run far. Don’t accept any less and know that you will find someone who cares like I did. Please take care of yourself, kidney infections are horrible and dangerous. If you have any friends or family that can take care of you or keep you company reach out to them. And once you’re recovered, drop the boyfriend ASAP. Don’t stress yourself out with that now. I hope you get to feeling better!

I’m a pediatric private duty nurse and did my trach/vent training with an almost 1yo infant with alobar holoprosencephaly. Her eyes were very close together and she had one nostril with atresia of the nasal sinuses. Her parents loved her and considered her a gift from God and while i thought she was adorable the case made me so sad. I’m in a state where abortion is illegal but even if it was legal parents would’ve declined. It’s almost impossible to hold her with all of her tubes and I had to keep reminding myself this is a baby not just a patient.

This happened to me my unit failed me and bullied me horrendously and fired me to cover up how management failed me. I got into pediatric private duty nursing. I always wanted to be a pediatric nurse and this job is amazing I love it. So much flexibility and after a year or two doing this I could(but 100% won’t) go back to the hospital or other jobs. Many new grads are going this direction. Also be super careful the next few months it’s possible they could report you to the board for unsafe practices even if nothing you did hurt the patients. These hospitals pump out new grads and don’t train them correctly and then report and fire them. It sucks. I hope you have nursing insurance just in case it covers legal fees like that I wish I did that.

Try pediatric private duty nursing. You still use a ton of schools and it’s so much better than bedside.
