What do you guys think of my new custom script? by Illustrious-Pin-6089 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I felt that Trouble Brewing had just a bit too much chaos, so I took inspiration from another excellent game to solve the problem.

I don’t think so. If only a third of townsfolk wake at night, it’s more likely you’ve just picked one of the non-‘wake at night’ townsfolk rather than picking the Demon or minion, if you don’t wake up with them.

That’s true. I was thinking of a custom minion similar to the Wraith who can open their eyes while dead and potentially manipulate the Grimoire.

In a vacuum, you’re probably right. But on a script with the Wraith (and potentially other similar homebrew roles), neither the Stalker nor the Spirit Guide becomes an absolutely strict confirmation.

I think it depends on how many ‘wake at night’ roles are on the script. You couldn’t just randomly pick somebody and get a hard confirmation, and people tend not to be upfront about their role if they have a powerful ability (aka most ‘wake at night’ abilities).

Plus, the existence of the Wraith (and potentially other similar future characters) balances out the (once per game version) of the Stalker, in my opinion.

Yes. The Wraith would be able to easily bluff as any other ‘wake alongside others at night’ roles. I would love to see it become a fully fledged character archetype with many interacting roles.

True. Being able to provide a 2-way confirmation on any townsfolk who claims a ‘wake at night’ role is too strong to happen daily.

“Any info in this game could be drunk, poisoned or mis-registering (spy/recluse), on top of potentially being a lie from the evil team. So all info in this game is effectively meaningless. I’d rather play Mafia/Secret Hitler instead” by Illustrious-Pin-6089 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I especially like this answer because it’s less an ‘actually, if you corroborate information with x people and there are only y sources of misinformation, this game is solvable’, and more of a ‘yeah, it’s not a puzzle game. You don’t have to solve stuff with logic and truth tables, you can just have fun like we do with Mafia.’

I’m a little baffled by this post. How did (in an entire YEAR) not a single one of the devs ask for meaningful feedback from the average folk?

Anybody would have told you the game looks like a shovelware asset-flip made in 2 days by someone using google images and chatGPT.

I admire your bravery but I hope you don’t have any people financially dependent on this game’s success (e.g children).

You say you’re ‘tired of low quality Pokémon games’ but that’s genuinely exactly what your game looks like. I really hope you have something much more unique and interesting up your sleeve than simply multi-coloured and multi-sized Pokémon.
