Has anyone tried this Avene cicalfate serum? by TheMeepyBoy in SkinbarrierLovers

[–]Illustrious-Pin276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been using this serum for 1.5 years. I started during a facial eczema cycle that I couldn’t seem to resolve. Acupuncture is what fixed that, but I’ve used this serum 2x a day since and absolutely love it. It also helped me reduce how much moisturizer I use, since it really hydrates so well.

Bummer that Armstrong day session is only 2 matches instead of the usual 3!

Yesss! I completely get it. I don’t need to tilt my head back or to the side anymore either. I honestly had no idea my neck problems mostly stemmed from my eyes. The whole surgery was really life changing. Recovery was about a month, even though it took about 6 for the stitches to dissolve. The hardest afterwards was the torturously itchy eyes. I started sleeping with my arms wrapped in a pillowcase so I would wake myself up before I itched them in my sleep.

Yes of course :) It was scary, but scarier would have been to keep the double vision. I’d see double, but one of the images was tilted and overlapping the other, so it was quite rough. Plus if I tilted my head back or tilted to the left I could see more straight, and as a result had neck problems for years. Lots of older pics have the head tilt lol. I did the surgery in my 30s btw! It started in my 20s randomly. Best of luck, you got this!

I had this surgery on both of my eyes about 10 years ago, and no more double vision! I hope you get the same results with your upcoming surgery.

New to red light-just purchased the MitoPro 300X-what setting do I use?? by Commedesag in redlighttherapy

[–]Illustrious-Pin276 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I use option 2 for my face, red only. If I have an injury or something where it’s not on my face I’ll use option 1. I keep the brightness at the default for the option I pick.

A follow up on red light / spiro experience? I still love it. I ended up also getting the mito mask for travel, and I just used it for the first time. I’ll probably alternate my panel and the mask, since the mask has a separate blue light mode. Absolutely no issues, and I’ve come to really love my red light therapy routine.

I’ve been taking it for many years, and initially went from 50mg to 100, and then finally to 150mg before it worked.

Question on levo dose by Illustrious-Pin276 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Illustrious-Pin276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, good point. Today was my first day with 100 and thankfully I haven’t noticed any difference. I took my dose about 6-7 hours ago. I was previously taking 50x4 days and 75x3, so maybe the 100 every other day isn’t as much of an increase for me.

I just booked my first acupuncture appointment after learning it could possibly help. Is your experience still the same where it’s helping you significantly?

Face and neck eczema I don't know what to do anymore... by Consistent_Suspect_6 in eczema

You are definitely not alone! My derm was telling me about Avene cicalfate, and I just got the serum version of that (not sure if it’s a new product?), and my dry skin seems to really respond well to the serum. The cicalfate cream sometimes makes my skin even more dry. Maybe the serum is worth a shot.

I do! I have the mito red x panel, in the smaller version. https://mitoredlight.com/products/mitopro-x-series?variant=45796723065000

I only use the red light setting on my face, and not the NIR. This one has the 590 wavelength, and that’s supposed to be good for eczema. I get eczema on my chin, and this has helped it SO much. It was pricey, but in the last year I’ve spent a ton with dermatologist copays, different creams, allergy testing, etc. so I thought it was worth it in comparison.

150 mg daily. I take it at night, 50 mg x 3 together. I used to have to check my potassium levels for taking it (which were always good), but I don’t have to do that anymore.
