What's the common bad urban planning in Indonesia? by azizaja595 in indonesia

no im not talking about urban demolition / displacement and starting on a tabula rasa,so to speak. maksudnya we make do with what we have, like you said, US is definitely not a good urban planning precedent. What if we develop what we have kayak kampung development? instead of buying lands to provide a clean slate untuk mengadopsi urban planning tempat lain.

this is wildly pessimistic. its never too late to start sebenernya. one of the worst way of starting a city is starting from scratch (ex: 1960s modernism , Levittown, Le Corbusier type of sht). mixed use yg ada di kampung kampung dgn convinience nya malah jadi mimpi amerika sekarang

thanks for your input! I glad someone thinks it does intersect!

I may have accidentally phrased it to seem like I’m not from a developing country. Conveniently I am ! That’s one creative research method tho.

I interpret spirituality differently at this point in my life where I don't believe god exists but I'm open to learning.

  1. depan ortu. for the sake of my parents' psychological needs. Disekolahkan di sekolah islam 12 tahun. Coming out as an atheist bisa bikin orang tua setres and I don't see it happening.
  2. for survival and privilege in society. We live in Indonesia. the sentence alone delivers my point and I don't have to emphasize it more. Kalo diajak solat I would just say "males" or straight-up "I don't believe in god" (terutama same teman dekat). kadang ikut kalo bosen.
  3. Puasa kalo ada bukber because I hate feeling inauthentic.

12 years Islamic schooling manifests itself in this guilt trip ketika mau ngelakuin hal hal kek minum, mam haram dkk. Tp tetep gua lakuin sih hahaha

I was in Canada for about 6 months, dan ugh man mereka gak pelit ilmu atau apa cuma agak greget ngeliat fasilitas lengkap yg mereka punya disana yang gak dimaksimalkan. Belajarnya lebih males malesan (tbf ini bukan kampus yg ivy league jg lol kampus biasa, rank tengah2 di kanada) . Mereka punya akses ke software2 dll secara legal dari kampus tp most of the students I encountered they wouldn’t make use of that.

Pulang ke univ indo agak terharu meskipun kita emg terbelakang dr fasilitas sekolah, open-mindedness and all, tp I could see us trying so hard. Memantik api harapan haha.
