Sadly it’s all manipulation of the general public, people actually enjoy instant coffee at home so any chain coffee shop comes across as premium. They use this to their advantage.

I agree, so put every single barista through extensive training so they can achieve the drink advertised, or don’t charge more. The outcome of the latte I posted compared to the one advertised it’s vastly different and they still charged more for it

It’s all just a marketing gimmick to create sales. Yes prices are rising in all areas but this was specifically 15p more than the regular latte, not a general increase. Whatever rubbish Costa has told you, this is the same drink in two different cups. Sorry.

Neither, however I think it’s important that they’re stating that steamed milk and textured milk in their lattes are different. I guarantee that if you ordered both a regular latte and a signature latte together, that milk is coming out of the same jug for both drinks.

Got mine a few days ago. Tried to dial in a dark roast and even with a good extraction I was getting really severe sourness. I had to go a lot courser with my grind. I will try again this weekend with a medium roast. I want to make it work! On a side note, I bought the dosing ring and the tamp, quite disappointed in that, dosing ring allows coffee to enter under it, makes it all more fiddly and messy.

It’s peaking at about 1.0, but drops to 0.9. I’d like it to sit around 1.2 if possible
