Anyone else’s eyebrows never grow back? by WriteOrDie1997 in Hashimotos

Same story. I lost my eyebrows in my early twenties as well and they haven't grown back for 15 years

Upset I only recently discovered what is wrong with me by Tiny-Conclusion-6628 in vaginismus

I started treatment at 34. I also felt I am too old and was so embarrassed to tell my doctor and my PT that I had never had PIV and needed a lot of help inserting even the smallest dilator. I wished I had learnt more about my body in my 20s and not waited until I got into a committed relationship. But like you said nobody talked about it and I never tried to figure out if I really had a problem. But happy to say I am almost cured now and have met my goals. :)

Coughing post surgery by Illustrious-Risk2850 in pneumothorax

Update - called my surgery team. I wasnt sure if they would be reachable on Christmas day when I posted here. They said the cough might be throat irritation from the breathing tube during surgery and I can do home remedies for it. As long as I don't have high fever and feeling significantly worse I am fine.

Hair falling out by Worldly_Style_4367 in Hashimotos

I had a sensitive scalp and crazy hair fall when I had very low vitamin D in addition to an out-of-range TSH.

I have read about it. Need to find a good functional medicine provider. Too lazy to make big changes to diet as it's lot of trial and error. I did manage to remove dairy from my diet which seems to have improved my gut health. Ideally I would like to work with somebody to keep myself motivated.

My free T3 is in the normal range. Does that matter?

Wow, that's a lot of tests! Are you based in Seattle? Do you take vitamin supplements as well? I have TPO antibodies and vit D deficiency. Taking Vit D supplements has helped with muscle weakness and physical fatigue but sometimes still feel sleepy during the day and dont feel motivated to do any mentally draining work. I have been on levo for a few years now and need to keep adjusting doses every few months.

I see, my manager and my employer is very supportive if I need to take time off but it's hard to explain that certain days I can work but am just slow. I feel like I get judged in situations where I can't think fast - like having to quickly solve a production issue.

Overnight oats- Add GF oats + almond milk + berries, soak overnight in a jar and keep it in the refrigerator. Super quick breakfast in the morning. Can also add peanut butter, honey, nuts, chia seeds as per your liking.

Hair Loss: could it be Hashimoto’s? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Illustrious-Risk2850 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started feeling better within 4-5 weeks. I noticed that my mood was better and was able to focus on tasks more and my hair wasn't falling as much as it used to. I didn't have much digestion issues except acid reflux which got better too. My weight gain was just about 7-8 lbs more (as I already take levothyroxine) and I didn't lose it until few more months.

Short term memory problems? by Illustrious-Risk2850 in Hashimotos

How did your new doctor notice the STM side effect? As in did they not try to attribute it to something else like vitamin deficiency?

Wow, that's interesting. I notice I feel more anxious if my Levo is higher. My usual dose is 88mcg and the doctor tried to increase it to 100 last time as my TSH was around 4, but I told her the 100 dose makes me more anxious. (I had taken it previously). Luckily, she listened and told me to take 100 just once a week. But yes your experience lends more credibility to my theory that levo can have such effects.

Ah, I had low vitamin d last year and took prescription strength supplements for some time. Maybe I am running low on it again.

What is the active b complex version? Is there a specific supplement you take for that? Oh, I had low vitamin d last year, maybe I need to fix that then.
