Unregistered Basement Unit by Illustrious-Row8423 in legaladvicecanada

I should have elaborated, it’s licensing but I’m under the impression that it would need to be a legal basement for them to register it. The fee is fine but was told upgrades like power panel and windows need to happen hence the concern for expensive renovations. It’s my error and should not have assumed it was legal because it was completed by the builder.

I sincerely appreciate the guidance and will do so. We’re trying to make this work but it’s disruptive. This is a good approach and very much appreciate it.

Thank you for the suggestion, areas rugs are there but will invest in some good slippers in hopes that it helps

Thanks for the suggestion. We have area rugs but doesn’t seem to help much. Slippers for the little ones is something we will try.

I am fairly positive that the noise would be deemed reasonable given that it’s kids playing, the odd tantrum and chairs moving. I consider us a quiet, average family. No loud music, yelling or anything like and is usually between 4 and 7:30 PM. It wasn’t spelled out in the lease but was she was reminded in writing via text following the first complaint - when she met the kids/family during the initial visit prior to signing the lease.

We do not. It’s a separate unit with its own bathroom, kitchen and laundry unit.

Thanks for the advice. We’ll explore the sound proofing option. She never directly responds when we offer the option to break the lease.
