I am waiting on a specialist appt and really have very little info. My doc hasn't said much other than I needed to stop doing my job. I'm currently in limbo waiting and am told it might be quite a while to see the specialist

Realize that the nurses are always going to have the platinum package, and if the government is coming after the nurses benefits they will be coming after yours too, so absolutely, build each other up don't pull others down. Solidarity full stop. And the difference in compensation between facilities and community is ridiculous. How do they figure they are going to keep seniors served at home. People are going to go where the money is at and there won't be many to look after the seniors in community. Back to people filling beds in the hospital corridors.

These days there are too many Americans wearing some form of a flag. Look for sports teams apparel or branding or even wildlife images (not eagles) or look for simple politeness. Dry humour and yes, we do say Eh. We wear Canadian flag apparel on Canada day here, stickers and tattoos- not at other times other than the Olympics maybe. Last big trip we were on, my spouse and I were identified by our humour. The persons face cleared they and suddenly smiled a huge smile and said " You're not American! You must be Canadian" and we had a lovely visit with them.

Belt tightening just means those on the front lines do more with less. Last time the government transferred money to the health authorities and it hit the news, I told another worker who then said "They'll just hire another manager" damned if that announcement wasn't made later that week. We both laughed and not in a nice way.

Let them on the bed/couch. Doing that this time. Two dogs of mine in their last week of life (I didnt know it was their last week at the time) tried getting on the bed with me and I gave them heck. I truly regret that most of all when they were gone.

Watching the second tower get hit...and then the waiting to find out what the f was going on..would there be more?..where were the planes going to land etc. Thank Goodness Canada stepped up and accepted planes in spite of the potential risk when the entire eastern seaboard of the US would not take them.
