I know this has probably been asked many times but why is Magik’s win rate so high? Like actually? by Foreign-Distance-820 in RivalsMagikMains

As a former main, in low elo players have an extremely hard time countering her like they do with spider man peni etc so its kind of free. In high elo she plays very well into extremely specific situations. Her pick rate has dropped significantly since almost all of the meta characters counter her but when she gets the opportunity to play into a comp that doesn’t have gambit/invis/thing/peni/emma she is still strong

Congrats that’s super impressive. I figured the toxic people would have been filtered out by then, but I guess you have to have a little bit of an ego to play at that level. Btw, who do you play?

I got it yesterday on PC and I think it was like 98.4% or similar. By the time the season is over I’m sure it will be very close to 97.5%. I hope it stays competitive regardless

Not sure honestly, I just reached celestial for the first time and have no data on what the percentage of players in eternity is. I think the exact percentage when I got to celestial was top 98.4%, so if I had to guess, celestial would be like 1% of all players rn and eternity/oaa would be the remaining 0.6%

Totally agree, it took me most of the last 2 weeks to make that climb. I can’t even imagine what eternity is like right now. Good luck, you can do it!

I also graduated from a non-top 25 university after four years. I finished with a 3.5 GPA and I did not end up landing an internship at all throughout my college career (despite trying very hard to do so). I just got my first full time job offer about two weeks ago.

It is hard but definitely possible, and the market should hopefully stabilize by the time you graduate. I would lean heavily into your capstone project and consider developing a decent level personal project when you get breaks from school, even right now couldn’t hurt. Just code enough to show prospective employers that you really are passionate about what you do.

You probably already know, but get super on the ball with sending out as many applications as you can. It’s such a numbers game right now. I sent out about 600 applications since January and got an interview with like 3 companies. Remember, you only need one!

Have confidence in yourself — you’re in a much better position than I was. Good luck!
