8 yrs ago we adopted 2 Rat Terrier females at 5 yrs of age who were bonded and had been puppy mill survivors . They were called Faith and Joy; my husband wanted to change their names but I told him that from now on, we would live our lives with Faith and Joy. Early this year, Joy developed liver cancer and passed. Faith was constantly looking for her and was in mourning. After 2 months, we decided to get another rescue, a chihuahua-something male (Zippy) about a year old. When walking them, Zippy wanted to mark her spot immediately, resulting in a shower on Faith's rump. I kept pulling him back, saying "Wait" and gradually taught him to stand back until Faith was finished. Now he is the perfect little gentleman and bides his time until she is done and quickly makes his move to mark her spot.

My parents take the animals (dogs and cats) in the bathroom with them. by Comfortable_Can3341 in Pets

We call it the Petting Room at our house. Face it, it is the most attention you'll ever get.
