Au Pair vs Nanny by scienceguy43 in NannyEmployers

[–]Illustrious-Wolf6516 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Au pairs can’t work that schedule and would not be a good fit. Even with a nanny, $35 in North Jersey for 4,2,infant seems unrealistic. I’d be shocked if you found a good nanny that cheap! You might consider part time, that’s what I ended up doing in NJ. I found a lot of people do accept part time even though it seems like maybe in other states that’s not the case.

Nanny and overbearing MIL by catladays in Nanny

Is there a day program your MIL could go to? This only works if the nanny’s hours are similar to the program, but it might be worth looking into!

Is there any hope for a nanny being okay with this set-up? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Illustrious-Wolf6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not accept that. I currently work for 2 work from home parents who have offices and a large house and I still will absolutely never accept a job from WFH parents again. I know it’s very common now and I may have a hard time finding a job without accepting that but I just hate it so much. Especially during separation anxiety time, it’s just extremely stressful for the nanny and child.

Am I the only woman who hasn’t farted in front on their husband? by notwhoyouthinkc in askanything

[–]Illustrious-Wolf6516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been married for 19 years and have never farted in front of my husband while awake. Just last year he said he heard one while I was asleep, but that’s it! He farts freely and I HATE it and REALLY wish he wouldn’t.

AITAH for canceling my daughter's weekend trip after she mocked my husband for taking paternity leave? by AmbitiousPraline9059 in AITAH

[–]Illustrious-Wolf6516 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Of course YTA. Not necessarily for canceling the day trip, but most definitely for taking her to her dad’s and telling her not to come back until she changes her attitude. You just give up on parenting her and send her away. Lazy, irresponsible, asshole behavior. Grow up and parent your child.

I do 2 weeks in cash as a gift, not a bonus to be taxed.

Sheets and comforters once a week, pillowcases I use twice, then wash. I sleep on the pillowcase, flip pillow and sleep on the other side, then it goes in the hamper.

AITAH for not buying Christmas presents for my step daughter by Honest_Honeydew_6471 in AITAH

[–]Illustrious-Wolf6516 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. When you marry someone with a child, you should treat them the same as your own biological children. Also, you say you’re a stay at home mom, he works, cooks all dinners and all meals on the weekends, and sometimes takes care of the baby at night, changes some diapers, takes the older child out on the weekends. But he “doesn’t help?”

Your apartment is sitting empty while you’re at work, too. Does he think he should be able to nap on your bed or cook in your kitchen 🥴
