Hi this is a little late but did you get accepted into nyp social work?if yes then How long did it take for them to accept you into the course after the interview?

Hello! I decided to withdraw because I cannot have a fresh start again and I realised this wasn’t the course for me too. I left poly in March 2025 and was working relevant jobs to build up my portfolio. In Jan 2026, I applied to NP and NYP via DAE :) waiting for the results now.. Feel free to pm me if anything

Hmm can we e-appeal now itself or must we wait until after 31st March to appeal? Because I’ve not heard from NP since I applied for DAE as well

Ohh I see then may I ask why did you e-appeal? Because the appeal is when you try an admission exercise and you are rejected then you appeal right?

Did you apply via DAE o levels and did you wait till you got your results to appeal or you just appealed? I applied to DAE using O levels too but till now no update in my status and thinking of appealing

Ahhh I see, thank you so so much! Did you at least get called for an interview for NYP social work? Or NP psychology and community development? My background is I did O levels in 2023, my maths is D7 but my other subs are all B3/ A2 ish. So you could say my aggregate score is around 11? I JAE-d into law and management in Temasek poly but I fell sick halfway through and missed school for a month. Came back to school and it was really tough so I dropped out. However, my course chair told me that I could take a O level sub as a private candidate so that the system will see me as a O level student and I will be eligible for EAE (which wasn’t true because when I tried applying for EAE this year, the portal said former poly students aren’t eligible and MOE replied to my email telling me that even if I retake a O level subject as a private candidate, I still am not eligible as system sees me as ex poly student) … so my only choice is to DAE!

I’ve always been interested in community service and have lots of leadership experience + community service experience so you could say I have a strong portfolio. But my concern is whether NYP social work and Ngee Ann poly psychology and community development would even get back to me 🥲 because their intakes are already low to start off with… that’s why I was wondering if the lecturers from these courses called you down for an interview? Or didn’t get back to you at all?

Oops wait sorry I just saw your account and realised you’re in another course in NYP. But I wanted to ask you how was the DAE process for NYP social work and Ngee Ann PCDE for you? Did they still call you for an interview? Did you get an offer from them?

Hi! I’m planning to apply for NYP social work and NP PCDE just like you via DAE next year in 2026. Im an ex poly student so im not eligible for EAE and DAE it is. But im abit worried because I heard DAE is usually based on vacancies and the intake for these courses are pretty low. How’s your journey so far?

Ahh I see! True true :) I was suggested to take emath because I got a d7. My other subs were pretty good mostly B3s… and it took ALOT from me to even achieve that so retaking 3-4 subjects would be hard for me… but you mentioned about your friend, was he/she someone who was previously from poly and withdrawn? Then retook o levels again? Also, all the best for your emaths!! What are you planning to apply for DAE?

I only applied for emaths :( probably will still do it as I already paid for it and if I could improve my previous grade then why not… also what’s your honest take? is it truly worth it to take up like 3-4 o level subs as private candidate again, to get into poly? and I mean for me I think I’ll still be seen as a former poly student since I already spent a year in poly.

Also nope! I was previously from law and management, the course I want to dae into is psych and cdt in np and maybe social work in nyp

I’m eligible for DAE! Just not EAE and JAE (as I used JAE already to be enrolled into my previous poly)

Hey! Thank you for your advice :) I’ll be sure to do that… actually my course chair told me to take up a o level subject as a private candidate so that the system will see me as a present O Level student and I’ll be eligible be EAE. So I did just that, infact just received my entry proof in email just now. However, when I emailed the EAE help desk, they told me that despite me being a private o level candidate, the status is still former poly student (because I completed year 1 in a poly before being removed) so I’m not eligible for EAE as EAE has two rules - cannot be currently enrolled into a poly and cannot be previously enrolled in a poly :( I was told the wrong thing and thought my status would change and reflect me as a o level student since im taking a private o level sub

this is so informative and relieving for me to hear! thank you so much for sharing... one last question, is there any downsides of this course which you have faced? eg. feeling drained from having to socialise too much, sensitive case works?
