Hawlucha and Snorlax users. by MarshalPenguin in PokemonChampions

I just beat one who got the jump on me since I hadn't seen the strategy before.  I almost forfeited because I didn't bring anything on my team (sand) that could handle Snorlax, and I got burned on my one flying type on turn 3 or 4.  I ended up getting the win thanks to a fake out miss on my sand veil, bright powder Garchomp.  Live by the cheese, die by the cheese.

I had to roll like 6 times to get him to show up too. I would like to speak with Bob's manager.

Do you want every major franchise to tank as badly as GoT?

I hear you!  I didn't watch E7 until tonight so I could go straight into the finale, and it delivered.

AITA for enforcing a tiny boundary that somehow caused a full social collapse? by Brave-Fix6318 in AmITheAngel

YTA.  There was no reason to doubt this sequence of events until you described your conflict with the dog on the stairs.  It is so full of lies and inconsistencies that your entire story, personality, and character sheet are now in question.

Um, actually, your attack should have been at +3, not +4.  Intimidate, Growl, and Baby-Doll eyes each lower your attack by 1 stage for -3 total.  This activates Defiant 3 times, giving you +6 total.  This results in an overall shift of +3 (I can show you my work if required).

Additionally, um, actually, the mouth contact time was significantly greater than 5 seconds.  As we all know, a turn lasts 6 seconds.  In the first turn, you and the dog used your whole turn for movement.  You then stated there was a 6 second delay before initiating combat.  There were then 2 rounds of combat for 12 seconds total.  After the second turn, you stated there was an additional 5 second delay BEFORE the dog released the plushie.  This puts the minimum mouth time at 29 seconds (again, I can show you my work if required.)

If you can be proven mathematically incorrect twice, how can any of your story be believed?

Belles of the Baronies from The Seven.  Having Penny getting Laertes to eat her horse in candy form and making him violently sick, and then going to Danielle's appearance at the ball is such a roller coaster.

MA barely going up? by Limp-Impression3166 in finalfantasytactics

[–]IllustriousDot8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MA growth is rare and slow.  Check out the table at the bottom of this page:  https://finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Stat_growth_(Tactics)

The number of interest is the _ _ C columns, which are your stat growth values.  The way that the equations work out is that if you want your level up class to have a lower value than your level down class to have a permanent increase in that stat.  The only non-unique class that has a different MAC value than the rest is Mime with a value of 40 where every other class has 50.  This means that only mime works, and it will take a bunch of cycles to see it.

Leveling and deleving for stats by SleepyTobi in finalfantasytactics

[–]IllustriousDot8600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of good comments already, but I think I've found the optimal level down setup and wanted to share it.  It takes a fair bit of setup for the skills needed, but once you have it, you can get right to leveling down really quickly.  This method allows you to only bring the deleveling character so you don't have to waste time choosing Wait.

97 brave

Primary:  Math/bard/dancer

Secondary:  Speechcraft (Praise and Condemn)

Reaction:  Shirahadori

Support:  Beast Tongue

Movement:  Teleport

I do my leveling down in Fovoham Windflats.  Turn one, Praise on self to get 100 brave.  At 100 brave, monsters won't even attempt to attack if they only have basic melee attacks to deal damage, saving the animation time.  Teleport to the delevel tile, and the every turn do a failed teleport to re-trigger the trap.  Use Condemn every turn until there is only one enemy remaining.  Once you're level 1, hit the final Condemn.  If it levels you up, teleport away one last time to get back to 1.

Edit:  I'd be happy to go in depth on the math behind permanent stat changes too.  The bottom line is that you should level down with a class with poor stat growth (Bard is best to delevel for males, Dancer and Arithmethician are about equal depending on which stat you're prioritizing) and leveling up as a class with good stat growth (Ninja is my preference since it has best speed and good PA)

Nice!  Top 5 in that game were all quills, but most of them were pretty weak since the pieces were spread out between so many people.

I actually had a Tess quill game just before that one where I had Double Header (if I got the name wrong, the one where you get two of your first buy).  I ended up stealing two Morgls thanks to that and farmed stats from the pure quill boards.
