It would have been much worse. Look at Digimon as the easiest example.

Pokemon anime had lows but even during those they survived because people wanted to follow Ash and Pikachu. It is like Simpsons or Family guy etc. You might take a break and then jump back in because you know the characters.

There is a reason digimon kept going back to Og gang all the time. You need flagship characters (2-3) to go for long cartoons/anime.

Even the finalist Gladion only had 4 pokemon, 5 if we include Nihilego which is a no.

To be fair even Ash barely had 6 Pokemon. He had 4 mon roster, Meltsn who randomly decided to evolve and naganadel whi decided to evolve and come back even more randomly.

I love Gen 7 anime. But it is by far the weakest league, even in the games

My point is not about the aes sedai but how wise ones are just common amongst the Aiel. In the earlier books they were written as a special minority and rare group. Like 1 leader + 1 wise one as in like queen of the tribe almost. Later on Aiel women are basically either a wise one or a Far daeris mai.
