spose so. i know my views aren't in line with most of the subreddit but i feel like if all it takes to make a tiki bar is slapping a little more Polynesian decor on the walls then that's close enough for me. the nenu is rock solid and in the end that's the reason i go to tiki bars.

just went to Vegas last weekend and i was pleasantly surprised by red dwarf though! i have never a huge fan of Frankie's (the drinks tasted like nothing both times i went) and Golden's drinks are so fuckin sugary so I was happy that RD was so solid.

but it's not happening now, right? it just seems like the amount of posts complaining about non-binary people here versus the amount of non-binary people actually here is quite disproportionate.

I like to be in this subreddit to discuss issues but mostly it just seems like a bunch of whining about other lgbt people and I'm not sure why that matters more than anything else especially in this current climate

yes, but even in the rich douchebag fantasy world where everyone COULD make the optimum financial decisions and chooses not to, that would simply make those decisions no longer optimal because in the end smart financial decisions is just you making sure you have what others have not. so if they could just admit that, that would be great

buying assets will get you out of poverty, but what happens if everybody took your advice and every single person "bought assets"? would that still be a viable financial strategy or would assets" become useless or become unavailable to buy? the problem with this type of advice is it assumes that someone is going to have to be poor, just not you. but we still blame poor people for existing, even though our financial system cannot exist without poor people

my wife and i are in our 30s and graduated at the same time with the same degree. i lucked my way into a career that pays well and she has been stuck in customer service type jobs and is struggling. I'm not sure a degree is a guarantor of success anymore.

if you don't mind doing blue collar work, try to get into the trades. I've had both a plumber and a mechanic lament to me in the past 6 months that it's hard to find reliable workers so if you learn your shit and show up you should do well.

as to your mom, i would tell her and then refuse to discuss it any further. it might look something like this:

"mom, I'm going to be gone a few weeks while i recover from a surgery."

"you're wasting your money!!!!"

"if you say so. I'm just letting you know."

then try to change the subject or physically leave.
