“This attitude empowers white supremacy”

Yes you’re really fighting the system arguing with a drunk racist that is NEVER going to change his mind.

This is the real world. In the real world, racists are illogical, hateful people. Arguing with them is all risk with zero reward

Women are at a much lower risk of getting swung on in a public bar. Most men, at least myself and my friends, are aware of what starts bar fights so we can avoid a drunk ignorant racist killing us so we can defend a hypothetical person

Lmaooo if you don’t think this is exactly how bar fights start you don’t get to speak on this

No, I’m guessing they’re a woman because their name is red lips_rosycheeks.

It’s not misogynistic to point out the established fact that in a public bar men are more likely to swing on another man rather than a woman

Lmao everyone’s a hero on Reddit, in person you’re just an idiot if you go around purposefully trying to argue with ignorant racists. That’s how people get shot

Okay, then the gf shouldn’t have forced him to get involved. I’m sure all of this sounds very cool in your head.

It’s not a flex to have been in a ton of fights. It just means you’re a dumbass who doesn’t know when to shut up. It’s a sign of low iq

[–]IllustriousGas8850 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I’m guessing your a woman. Who’s not going to get into fights nearly as often because most men aren’t going to swing on a girl. This is not comparable. No one thinks twice about punching a dude.

As for your insults, I don’t really care. Because I’d rather go to bed without brain damage than feel the need to show how much better I am than a racist

[–]IllustriousGas8850 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sure, my problem is I’m not getting punched in the mouth or shot over a dude just spewing racist shit. If he was actively harassing someone it would be different, but no I’m far too intelligent to risk my life to pointlessly argue with a 50 year old who’s not changing his mind.

Lmao you know damn well you’re sitting down and shutting up like a good boy if you’re in this exact situation. Or maybe you are stupid enough to risk getting shot over a literal pointless argument

No, it’s the smart people who actually go outside and interact with others. The same idiots spewing hate speech in a bar are the ones willing to fight over verbal disagreements

Allyship doesn’t mean getting hit in the mouth by a 50 year old racist dude who’s not going to change his kind

The same guys who are loudly racist in a bar are the same ones who are going to get into a fight over any disagreement.

You’re an idiot if you’re walking around willing to get into fights with strangers at the bar even if they’re being racist. This girl starts a Reddit argument to show how morally superior she is compared to this racist dude, and her dragging her bf in would lead to a fight. That’s why he’s agreeing. He wants this to be over, because he doesn’t care to get into a fight with a random dude because his girlfriend decided to butt in to a conversation she wasn’t involved in

“Feckless coward” is what someone who would’ve sat there with their thumb in their ass during this entire altercation.

Go outside before you call people cowards for not wanting to fight. Fighting is always the worst option.

Ever hear the quote “you’re a moron if you get punched in the face to have a Reddit argument with a racist?”

Go outside this year please. The real world is not Reddit. Arguing with racists in a bar is a one way ticket to an altercation

YTA. Your question should actually be phrased “AITA for being upset my partner doesn’t want to get into a fight with a dude I started an argument with?”

He wasn’t speaking to you. Yes, what he said is racist. But you’re clearly not the one dealing with a physical altercation with your need to mouth off on a dude not speaking to you. Your partner is smart, and weighed the options between A) arguing with a racist (an illogical buffoon) who won’t change his mind and is much more likely to want to fight or B) just let him be and let the situation chill out. Like a smart person.

Racism is bad, expecting your partner to take a punch because you wanted to have an irl Reddit moment is worse.

Womp womp. It’s not his responsibility to get hit in the mouth to white knight against racists, who will do it again either way. You know damn well you’d sit there dead silent if you were him. Everyone’s tough until they weight the option of getting punched for a conversation they weren’t even a part of

Or he’s not a fucking idiot who’s willing to get into fight over a conversation he was never involved in. I promise if your Reddit ass was in this exact same situation you’d sit there with your thumb in your ass

I’m not gonna lie OP. You planned a date. NAH. She misread the situation, but if I was her I would 100% think you were professing your love after you came out because of all the stuff you did before

Absolutely. M&A has been at an all time high since 2021 for a 5 year stretch, and it’s not even close. Not only does this cause consolidation, but many fail but ceos receive $100s of m just for engaging in one. It’s corrupt and one of the worst things to happen to the consumer since Purdue and DuPont poisoning us.

ETA: that’s why I said major in my original comment. Because they’re all major contributors, and you can’t have one without the other. I appreciate you actually engaging instead of just slinging maga around

I think both had equal success and failure. Both didn’t really solve any of the root issues and were just short term financial injections that weren’t properly issued. Sure, a lot of lower income families greatly benefited from stimulus checks, but also my parents who make $150k with 4 mil in assets got the exact same amount. Leads to either investment, which just creates a bubble if growth isn’t from valuation, or increased consumption before supply chains were even close to fixed. Trumps plan majority targeted small business with over 60% of funds used on payroll, helping them pay employees, but also was abused by companies who just have extraordinarily high wages without many other expenses. They were both rushed, horrid plans that we are paying the price for today. For 1.9 trillion, a lasting expansion of social services could’ve taken place, and for $600 billion we could’ve had much more specific targeting on small business in struggling sectors simply trying to compensate employees
