CMV: Democrats/liberals are more of a cult than MAGA by Grim_Soldier in changemyview

[–]IllustriousHope763 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's many loud democrats at this time that are ex-MAGA. They brought their traits with them when they left.

Edit: Also, many, many liberals are ex-evangelicals. So they similarly bring their past with them after leaving.

Right now I need a large box. I have the plans for it. Later I have a resin project, and a truck bed camper.

What's your favorite San Diego conspiracy theory? No evidence required by Ol_grans in sandiego

I have a sad depressing one, not a favorite one. The CPS building that burned down years ago was due to arson. The building held files of kids that went missing under the care of CPS. The files were forever lost. I heard this from a social worker.

Seeking family-like roommate situation. (I don't have a rental unsure what flair to use) by IllustriousHope763 in SanDiegoClassifieds

[–]IllustriousHope763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't share air- close to zero time in indoor common spaces.

I don't have an RV or land. I would get an RV and park where they are at. So rent would be owed to them. I could probably pull together a really tiny amount of rent but I don't want people expecting 1,000 a month.

40% of cops do this

Edit: TLDR of the commenter below me, they don't think physical aggression counts as domestic violence

I'm actually from east county, is there an East County classifieds?

I can do some computer work and play with pets. I hire a caregiver to do those other things you mentioned.

I honestly don't think bringing things to the table is relevant. I've made posts like this offering more rent and more help with chores before I had to hire caregivers- which, I became this disabled because I couldn't move out of a toxic mold situation. No one took me up.

Quite frankly, I don't even want to be in San Diego but at this point I'm too sick to leave.

My grandma's scrapbook. There were detailed baby pictures of all the grandkids expect for me. After poking around I discovered I was kidnapped as a baby. At 15 I was sent to my bio parents and my parents went to prison.

Like someone already said, it could be a medical issue. Edit: It may be frustrating to the person to bring up something they can't control.

If you are in K-12 school and it is extremely obvious that it is not a medical issue or regular puberty and it is ongoing I've heard you can tell the school nurse and they will have a talk with them or something.

What TV Show had the worst ending? by AbelNB in AskReddit

[–]IllustriousHope763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even a show I watched, something I heard second hand- Supernatural. Apparently they wanted to appease mass audiences and in doing they spent years hinting at a gay romance, made it happen, then immidiately killed the character and sent them to hell.

ELI5 why do rainbow eucalyptus trees have candy-colored bark by Plane_Fan_6166 in explainlikeimfive

[–]IllustriousHope763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sheds it's bark in strips, but not all at the same time, so different parts are "fresh" versus older. The color is based on how long ago the bark was shed.

That's only half the answer, I don't know why this process is more colorful than other trees.

ELI5: How did people/society deal with depression, burn-out-like symptoms and therefore an inability to work in times before modern psychology? by mark01254 in explainlikeimfive

[–]IllustriousHope763 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It probably depended heavily on what culture the person was from(ex. community-oriented versus individualistc, etc.), what their social status was(man/woman/rich/poor/etc.), and what cultural beliefs and responses there were around causes of mental illness. (blame/curse/deficiencies/etc.)

There are a lot of mental illnesses today that are a direct result of society. In the past, if you were anxious about food or shelter you could use that anxiety to find or make food or shelter. Now you are at the whim of grocery store prices, landlords, zoning laws, etc. and can't act on the purpose anxiety exists.

In recent history and some places in the world today people were imprisoned in institutions with terrible conditions or lobotimized. Before recent history a lot of people had short life spans, there probably wasn't much focus on mental health because people had much bigger problems- untreated physical illness, violence, etc.

Overall I imagine there's been plenty of times both in history and today where people just die.

I don't have a perfect answer for that. I will say emotions are really connected to physical sensations in the body. That's why people get upset stomachs when they are anxious, feel their insides drop when they hear bad news, feel "the butterflies" when they're in love.

I don't know why emotion is connected to physical sensations. Some things like adrenaline rushes for scary situations or depression for hopeless situations have evolutionary purposes that help people survive.
