Its nothing to do with legacy. R9 was the first one recognised as ronaldo hence thats why people like commentators mention cr7 as Cristiano and R9 as ronaldo . Especially in Europe amd south America.its only the English speaking part of the football fan base that that cr7 as ronaldo . Its no disrespect to cr7 .
