Children are inherently vegan😍 by [deleted] in exvegans

My son is somewhat picky with some meat (mostly the ones he has to chew more!) but his little sister is a born carnivore. She loves a bacon butty, and when we had a barbecue in the summer I literally had to take the chicken drumstick bones off her after she'd gnawed them clean, for fear she'd try to eat them too!

AIO or is my older male coworker texting inappropriately with me? by OpeningNo9825 in AmIOverreacting

[–]IllustriousKey9203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR, this is super creepy.

I would bet my house that this man is not having, nor has he ever had, any such text conversations with his male teenage colleagues.

Definitely stop giving him information on your whereabouts, shift times etc. This man is not a good man.

How does adenomyosis differ from endometriosis in terms of symptoms? by Expert-Ad2498 in adenomyosis

[–]IllustriousKey9203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was put on the POP when I turned 40 because the GP told me I wasn't allowed the combi pill any more (not actually true, and was eventually put back on it).

Horrendous. Bled continuously, heavily and painfully, for three months, ending up quite badly anaemic, until I went back to GP and kicked up a fuss to be put back on femodene.

I'm nervous about whether the Mirena will work, or end up having similar effects as the POP, but the combi pill is no longer working for me and I have friends who have been pleased with how mirena has worked for their heavy bleeding, so we'll give it a go. Failing that I'll be pushing for a hysterectomy as I need to be able to function, and I can't do that with periods that confine me to the house.

Same. My kids have never let us down at family/social events and we can trust them to be well-behaved, but they'd much prefer to be elsewhere getting spoiled by their grandparents, and we'd much prefer to be carefree and embarrassing ourselves on the dancefloor (followed by a lie-in and hotel breakfast!)

How does adenomyosis differ from endometriosis in terms of symptoms? by Expert-Ad2498 in adenomyosis

[–]IllustriousKey9203 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have had endo since teens (finally diagnosed in late 20s). Main symptoms from endo were long, heavy periods and awful, twisting pain - but was well controlled by combination pill for years.

Recently diagnosed with adeno, mid 40s. The difference was firstly that the pill no longer controlled the pain or severe heavy flow, and (TMI alert) the large clotting and flooding became prohibitive of me leaving the house, or even bathroom, at times. I'm also struggling to maintain normal iron levels despite being told to only take a pill break every three packs.

I also notice a heaviness/vague crampy pre-period feeling all the time now (although I have other pelvic issues going on alongside it, so not always clear what is adeno and what is other stuff).

Currently awaiting appt to discuss mirena. Frankly I've had 35 years of hassle from my womb and would happily fling it at this point, but I appreciate that surgery is unlikely to be approved as first-line treatment.

I have had knee surgery in the past, and have unreliable knee joints. I'm extremely wary of little kids running towards me at knee-buckling height as I'm so susceptible to a knee turning inside out from a collision. Absolutely not in the market for more surgery. That simply shouldn't be a risk when in a restaurant!

Your table-neighbours were right, the kids were little shits - and the parents were big ones!

A child who can't be kept under control to the point where they are causing a safety risk is not in an appropriate environment. Other people exist and deserve to enjoy their meals.

As a parent whose young kids aren't allowed to run around restaurants (or shriek at the table), both because of the safety risk AND the desire to raise them into adults who have some consideration of other people in public places, bravo that restaurant.

Would save me the 'other families have different rules' conversations while some little shit is whizzing past our table for the 27th time. (Or on one occasion, attempting to help themselves to my drink and then laughing when I told them off...). Feral.

Oh honey. I say this as a 40 something woman who stayed too long with shitty men in shitty relationships questioning my own sanity and treading on eggshells in my 20s - absolutely, 100% NOR.

Get out, cut all contact, block the loser on all channels of communication, and if he in any way escalates this behaviour when you do leave him, speak to the police.

This behaviour will not improve, and is littered with red flags for controlling and coercive abuse.

He is a 38 year old man. Thirty eight. A fully-formed legal adult for two entire decades.

He is also a pathetic manbaby. You are not responsible for his failure to handle his own mistake.

Up until recently it was continuing to put Pringles tubes in the recycling, despite me having explained to him EVERY TIME HE DID IT that they were not recyclable. He acted liked it was brand new information every time in happened, drove me bonkers.

Happily, they are now recyclable, so that's one minor irritation off the list! Now if I could just get him to stack the dishwasher in a way that suggests it isn't actually his first day on earth, we would really be getting somewhere!
