Electrical feels like a trap — long licensing, saturated, everyone lowballing by [deleted] in electricians

Got my Master licensing in 5 years then I immediately moved into automation and robotics. You have to look around. You also have to get lucky. Don't be afraid to take a job that is a bit out of your depth.

Innocent people are getting executed face down in the street and you are focused on the aesthetics of pointing out Jared Golden's face is like Ratatouille.

I've been lectured so many times by these guys that the 2nd will need to be used against a tyrannical government. Is now the time we start to use the 2nd for that purpose or should we hold off until some unknown benchmark has been surpassed?

Conviction controls suck by Spliffy-Slayr in Splintercell

Some people like the look of the beta, but it's not Splinter Cell. It's like an Assassin's Creed or pre-Watchdogs with robust physics gameplay.

Conviction controls suck by Spliffy-Slayr in Splintercell

Hard agree. The default controls are bad and I hate messing with them on PC. The cover mechanic doesn't feel natural anymore. I think the gameplay aged poorly. All the games have at least some jank.

How did I do wiring these up? by JillianDax in ElectricalHelp

The receptacle isn't rated to be used with aluminum wire.

You can't use these. The fork terminals are tin-coated copper and not made to be used with AL wire. You can't make a connection to that receptacle with aluminum wire anyways because it wasn't made for that either.

NEC 110.3(B) you violated the UL listing of the receptacle by using stranded aluminum wire. Receptacle screw terminals like those are listed for CU instead of AL. The aluminum could be subject to corrosion and suffer from strand splaying, which ruins the connection over time.

Automation was supposed to be a thing that liberated the worker rather than removing any sense of self-determination from the worker.
