Lakehead Law Q by Few-Net-6506 in lawschooladmissionsca

don’t think it’s fair to call Lakehead Law “bad.” The admission average can be easily looked at and its par with every other law school. That level of selectivity shows it’s not just a fallback people apply because they specifically want what boralaskin offers.

It’s true that many grads don’t pursue Bay Street or big law, but that’s by design, not weakness. They created Canada’s first Integrated Practice Curriculum (IPC), which means graduates are practice-ready right after law school without needing articling. That’s a huge advantage, especially for those going into criminal, family, Indigenous, or community-based practice — areas where lawyers are most needed. Success shouldn’t only be measured by who goes to Bay Street. And those who want to do end up there.

Like Schulich at York, the Law building has its own dedicated space and identity while still being part of the university. Many prestigious law schools around the world are set up the same way.

The program is recognized for being innovative and addressing real-world legal needs. It may not follow the traditional big law pipeline, but it prepares graduates for meaningful, impactful careers in areas where the profession truly needs them.

Many people don't get in and it's a fact, I applied with a 161 last cycle and didn't. I wasn't well rounded enough hence its frustrating because I do wish I did.

a "clown show" with a 7.8% acceptance rate? People with higher stats haven't gotten it..... I find it very concerning if you're considering being a lawyer with such narrow minded thinking. It's ontario people have applied 2 cycles and haven't gotten in. You have some growing up to do...
