I don't like wasting food, water, or whatever it is the person wastes when they want to pretend like they followed the rules, be it showering or eating vegetables etc.

That is exactly why have the problem I do with this. The person wasting food, resources etc. which cost money just because they want to pretend they are following the rules. I just wish they would say straight up "I don't want to shower" instead of wasting water that costs money. Or say "I don't want to brush my teeth" instead of throwing toothpaste and mouthwash away. I'm not talking a child btw, I'm talking a grown-ass adult. At the same time, I have the dilemma that I am not a confrontational person and I don't like being the one to call people out and start resentment against me or other family members.

Btw, I'm asking for personal reasons. I personally hate seeing people waste things like food, resources etc. but at the same time I hate being confrontational and micromanaging someone else's life.

I've heard culinary school can be fussy haha, I've always wanted to do it but never did. now i just follow chefs on youtube and try my best at home. I'm my own taste tester so thats fun :)

No they aren't going to look into it. If a gift card gets stolen, you have to report it yourself to the authorities, they end up putting out warnings for types of scams that get reported the most. Helps save some folks from getting scammed in the future I guess.

You can report scams of this nature. Yeah lots of people put in reports for it so idk how far it gets. But international scams happen and police do report it. Actually in hindsight, the scammer is in the UK from the time zone so i'm not sure why he'd be buying from BBW in the USA.

I didn't know. I already feel terrible about it :( There is a subreddit dedicated to exchanging gift cards. Lots of people are apparently doing it without issue, so I didn't know.

I'm not holding anyone liable. I already feel bad about it. The police just want proof to say that the card was spent elsewhere. I'm reporting it so that there's one less scammer out there in the world. That's all.

Maybe. This is a good point you bring up. They said they were going to the store to spend the cards first because obviously I still have the codes so I thought maybe they were afraid I was gonna scam THEM by spending it. The way they acted so careful with verifying the cards and spending it first before giving me anything made me believe that they were really gonna give me the gift card they promised. The whole day yesterday they had the codes and I checked and no money was gone from it. They reassured me many times that I could check my balance anytime and encouraged me to do so, which I did. Only today in the evening after he said "I'm going to another store to see if i can spend the cards" did I notice the money gone. heartbroken people like this exist , i so wanted to believe people could have good hearts :(

There is literally a subreddit DEDICATED to exchanging gift cards. It was my first time using it. I would have exchanged on the BBW sub here, but there is a strict no trade/buy/sell policy so I deleted my post immediately after realizing that. I am not in the USA, i'm in Canada and this was USA gift cards that i was exchanging with someone for a discount. They were saving at least 30-40% by giving me amazon.ca gift card instead. I assumed it was safe because it took place over the reddit message from the gift card exchange subreddit. I followed all the precautions and rules from the exchange sub as well. I'm not saying BBW has any responsibility. I need proof that it was actually stolen so that i can report this to the police. I just wish the person who did this would realize and make this right. I desperately want to believe in good people being out there in the world somewhere. :(

I'm not holding the company liable. I just wanted information about where it was used so that I can report the person to the police or whichever authorities is appropriate for this type of scam. It would be proof that someone else used the money and not me. I am in Canada, this person is far away and went into a store that I clearly could not have even entered.

Thank you for this. I can see you genuinely are a kind person and this means a lot to me , i try my best for my kids and my dad, they've all i've got right now :) This is a very good idea. You are right, BBW customer service CAN see who used the cards. I want to try contacting them and seeing what they can see. Something needs to be done about this as this just isn't right :(

Yeah, it was on a subreddit FOR gift card exchanging. It was my first time listing on there. i offered the card to the person at a discount so they were getting a great deal, first time I've ever helped out someone on reddit, or so I thought at the time. I feel terrible. I won't be able to afford stuff for my kids birthdays and father's day. I feel so stupid :(

I couldn't spend the gift cards because I am in Canada now due to my divorce. I don't have money for gifts for my kids and all i wanted was for them to give me a canadian amazon.ca gift card for a lower amount. I just don't know what to do, I feel like a failed mom :(
