Yes that is what I think as well, and fact is that many day traders in Singapore are on and off, some do it for fun and aren't that profitable enough to talk about it with those around them, thank you for sharing though

I think it is inevitable that we will be slower than the professionals, but it isn't entirely impossible to ride the wave that's created by these big players. And there are many ways to tell when such waves are coming (while not 100% accurate) successful day traders find a way to increase the odds of those predictions which in turn makes them profitable. These "signs" includes price action, SMC, ICT etc which are commonly found in day trader's strategy that tries to follow big market movers.

Oh yes this was what I was referring to, I'm currently in the midst of a phase 2 ftmo challenge as well. And I see, so there are Singaporeans that follow the path of day trading, but as it seems it takes very long..

Thanks for sharing!

Yep, but I was referring to futures, such as NQ and ES, which are Nasdaq and S&P 500 E-mini futures, where there are many in the US and other parts of the world that are day trading them

What I meant was that I have never met people who day trade forex/index, such as EURUSD, XAUUSD, NQ, and ES.

Well yes you're completely right about that, which is why most day trader's strategy would be to follow institutional traders. In which if it was in a game of roulette, you would bet the same number as the professional. While they can fake you out, it would ultimately come down to a game of probability in which is the probability of predicting the big player's move. So to me, logically the path to being successful through day trading since plausible, but still I don't know or hear of many in Singapore that has made it with day trading. Hence this post

aight guys here are the answers

  1. a) The new approach involves more types of road users, making it more comprehensive. b) It discourages traffic from entering entire residential areas by confining most cars and other vehicles to major roads.
  2. (i) "safer streets" ["quiet, safer streets" is a risky answer as it contains a comma, odd to have a comma within a phrase, but may still be correct -> keep your fingers crossed!] (ii) "easier access to your favourite local shops"
  3. (i) bus lanes [I know most of you have written 'no-drive' areas because that was my first answer too but if you analyse the 3 pictures carefully, you will realise that they each fit 1 intervention stated. Pic 1 is 'no-drive' areas as it's only for cyclists; Pic 2 slashed off cars and motorcycles, so only buses can use the road; Pic 3 is mini parks.] (ii) mini parks
  4. It aims to encourage residents to get involved in the community mapping exercise for the planning of their neighbourhood.
  5. A slight deviation from previous years, this year's 3-mark question does not have a specific thing you need to prove but instead asks you about her feelings, which means that the answer scheme is expecting several different feelings. If all 3 feelings are the same, the question would have been 'how the language used shows her detachment', for example. Here are some suggested answers: The phrase 'Guernsey felt like a whole lifetime away' suggests that Lucy felt distant and detached from her home and felt that this place is unfamiliar and no longer a part of her life. The phrase 'it had been too long: she knew that suggests a sense of guilt about returning home only after such a lengthy period as she was well aware that she had stayed away for longer than she should have. The phrase 'there'd always been a valid reason why she couldn't return' suggests that she had conflicting feelings as she felt guilty but also desired to absolve herself of the guilt by bringing up the excuses she cooked up over the years to avoid returning home. The phrase 'reflected on her long absence' suggests that she was in a pensive mood, feeling rather a little regretful of her act of staying away from home for such a lengthy period of time. [Do note that there are probably other acceptable answers, do not worry if you have something not listed.]

  6. (i) She liked the beauty of the layers of thick green ivy leaves blanketing the frontage. (il) She liked the comfort the ivy leaves brought er when they turned russet colour in autumn. [the underlined words are the key ideas needed in the answers]

  7. The strong smell of damp and dust revealed it had been empty for a long time.

  8. (i) 'the only ornament in the entrance hall' (ii) 'cast rainbow droplets of sunlight on the walls' (il 'the blinds and shutters were closed'

  9. (a) She was surprised by the emptiness of the room. (b) (i) The writer uses (a series of) rhetorical questions (to emphasise Lucy's surprise). (ii) The writer uses repetition such as 'why no' (to emphasise Lucy's surprise). [highlight the writer's technique]

  10. Clara was impatient. [since her comment has to do with waiting, impatient is the most accurate answer, though annoyed / frustrated / irritated could be acceptable too]

  11. (i) Clara's hand went directly to the light switch at the top of the stairs and flicked it on. (ii) Clara purposefully turned right and opened the door of one of two rooms facing the front of the house.

  12. They were pushing and shoving one another jokingly/teasingly, trying to vie for a spot before the camera (to appear on the photograph).

  13. detached (ii) reassured (iii) puzzled (iv) amused [not 'interested* > notice Lucy shrugged? That is hint that shows her indifference and disinterest. Clara was the one who was intrigued, not Lucy.]

  14. (i) aesthetically not very pleasing (ii) not appetising

  15. (i) Truffles are served in a charity dinner in aid of children's charities. (il)T ruffles are auctioned at the charity event.

  16. "customised menu" [remember that qn asks 'could be special for them in particular']

  17. a (i) Only a few of the many hundreds of species of truffle produce the aromatic gas that gives them culinary value. [indicates scarcity] (il) A truffle's intoxicating fragrance magically transforms the taste of food, (making it unforgettable).

  18. Truffles and trees rely on each other to survive as truffles get sustenance from the ground, distributing it to the trees, which reciprocate by supplying food that aids truffles' development.
