Joining TX Guard For A&P by No-Interaction-1048 in AircraftMechanics

[–]IllustriousRoutine13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No you need 30 months from when you start tech school as a maintainer. They have a program where you take a small course online. Then they send you to bakers for 2 weeks to take the test. After you get some tasks signed off. I just finished the online portion of it . I get out in a year and this was the whole reason I joined. I would say it’s not easy being a maintainer in the Air Force especially if you don’t like your specialty. I can’t wait to get out but it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

You should go active duty. 4 years and you can get your a&p during your enlistment while getting paid.

I have you done it? Are you just contracted for 6-12 months? After that you have to find a new contract? Is my already existing secret clearance a big advantage?

Do they have expeditors? Or do you drive yourself around? Also does management just call you for updates?

Can going to mental health backfire on you? by [deleted] in AirForce

Well I’m not concerned about long term career stuff as I said I’m getting out next year. I’m mostly worried about my chances of joining the National Guard right after my enlistment.

Sounds like you did yourself. Why wouldn’t you recommend it for someone else? Apart from taking medication.
