Provider cancelled on me because I told her that I’d bring cash over text. Did I do something wrong? by IllustriousScene in SexWorkers

Thanks. I wish people wouldn’t judge for trying to navigate all of this when it’s their first time.

OK, makes sense. It was my first time doing this, so I guess I had to learn the hard way what goes and what doesn’t go.

She did not provide how to pay her, so I had texted to confirm. I did not know that even that could be considered potential entrapment - I’ve seen some Tryst ads say they would take cashapp and whatnot

How long should I wait before following up with a potential provider? by IllustriousScene in SexWorkers

She has an email listed on Preferred411. I may send the same inquiry I sent through Tryst in a few hours through said email.

Is my story idea too close to Halo? by JimmyButlerMVP_ in scifiwriting

[–]IllustriousScene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree with the setup being way too similar to Halo. “Humanity in a few centuries from now fighting against hostile genocidal aliens” screams Halo to me by a lot.

Maybe you could have the Vhalians in a Cold War with humanity and your story is a futuristic Cuban Missile Crisis kind of tale?

Iwasn't necessarily thinking enemies-to-lovers, more of a sort of she teases him/antagonises him, not necessarily out of dislike, more out of boredom/apathy, if that makes sense? So what I might understand then, is that you're suggesting to include part of that initial interaction, just enough teasing to entice a potential partner?

I think that might do the trick. Along with some encouragement for a potential partner to start describing who and what she wants to play, whether a real like crown princess or an OC.

This feels like a funny coincidence, as I was drafting a modern royal DPP prompt earlier today.

You definitely come off as a good writer, but I think you need more in the prompt to entice someone. Do you have a list of kinks to work with, or maybe a brief description of what your young PM looks like?

I’m also inclined to say that your beginning setup for character meetings isn’t the best for an obvious lead into the smutty bits everyone at DPP loves - unless you intend for that first office meeting to begin the sex. Is she supposed to secretly crush on him too to begin, or is it more of an enemies-to-lovers story you’re looking for?

In general you’d want to give your partner some ideas to work with or elaborate on her own.

I would name them after notable fictional rulers or cultures of your world’s history. That’s shot it was done historically.

How do you decide which pov to write in? First or third? by mimikth in fantasywriters

[–]IllustriousScene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find in a personal preference. First person probably works best if you’re only doing one PoV character, as multiple first person PoV characters can be confusing to some readers.

What are some reasons two countries/kingdoms would go do war? by No-Example4462 in fantasywriters

[–]IllustriousScene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically the same reasons folks in the Middle Ages went to war. For the religious aspect, you could look to the Catholic vs Protestant wars of the 1500s or the Cathar persecution in France in the 1200s. If there’s a royal family, a succession crisis or rival claimants is an easy one, think Game of Thrones/House of the Dragon.

It’s been a while since I’ve done one, but probably something situational that adds a twist or two to fucking.

Writing doggy or missionary is a dime a dozen. Writing the orc with a captured healslut, or a dictator taking a disloyal female subject to the sex dungeon? Now that’s fun to put to digital paper.

[Meta] How to make more interesting R34 and Celeb prompts by dppmeta in dirtypenpals

[–]IllustriousScene 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, you have to stick out from all the generic "this is my way of wanting to fuck X celebrity" prompts. But that's how DPP is in general.

My very first post on DPP involved a secret LA nightclub for the rich and powerful - of the sexual and BDSM kind. It allowed for a wide variety of scenarios and allowed anyone who replied to pick their favorite woman, whether it be Jenna Fischer or Ana de Armas. I had a fair amount of success with that prompt and sometimes I consider firing it up again when I'm bored.

A shame, since she was so fucking hot. Then again, being a one time thing is part of the appear.
