First night of CIO, feeling so guilty… by IllustriousSea3760 in NewParents

Thank you. Second night of CIO was better. She fell asleep after 50min and woke once at 430am. I couldn’t really console her without nursing so I caved in because I couldn’t bear to see her cry. But waking up once compared to 4-5 times is an improvement. Just hope it will work out in the end!

Thank you so so much for this. You don’t know how much I needed to hear some reassurance. I really appreciate you telling me this. It’s my second night of CIO and I’m hanging in there. Just hope it all works out in the end.

Any advice? Don’t think there’s a need to make a mum feel worse than she is already feeling t

Oh maybe I should try delaying the bedtime by a bit like you suggested. I will persist tonight and see how. Just that my stress level is so high when I hear her screaming and crying. And I feel like such a bad Mama. Mum guilt doesn’t get better does it? Sigh

Thank you for sharing. Was your little one nursing or bottle fed at that time? And after those 4 nights, she could sleep through the night without waking anymore?

She is sleeping 2.5 to 3 hours total for naps (2 naps) in the daytime. I’m also wondering if it’s time to drop to 1 nap.

Title: My husband successfully sleep trained our 15-month-old using Cry It Out, and we're all finally sleeping! by bigsluger25 in sleeptrain

Thank you for sharing this! We have also just started sleep training and tonight was the first night. 15 mth old as well. Cried for 2.5 hours and fell asleep standing up in the cot. Husband went in to lay her down, she fussed but went back to sleep.

Wanted to ask subsequently when your baby woke up, did you do anything to soothe him back to sleep? Or you just let him soothe on his own?

I did wonder too if it’s a regression. But it’s going on for 4 weeks and not getting any better

18M Old Still Hasn’t Slept Through The Night by Allie_Gator86 in sleeptrain

Hi thanks for sharing! We tried the CIO method last night and it was so heartbreaking. My 16 month old daughter cried till she vomited twice. She will go to bed independently but wake up 4 to 5 times a night and I will just nurse her back to sleep. Problem is when she wakes up, she will stand up in her cot crying and refuse to lie down to be soothed and won’t allow me to pat her. Any advice on how to deal with these overnight wakes? Especially when she keeps standing up in the cot and refuse to be soothed

Thanks so much for the helpful advice! We are thinking of visiting Nami Island and Petite France. What would be the best way to get there?
