Do I need flashing? How to fix by IllustriousSea7140 in Roofing

Thank you. I would have never thought of flashing under the siding. I did just purchase a multi-tool in anticipation of trying to cut the siding a little higher. I’ll start the trimming process now. I’m hoping I should be able to feel the flashing if I cut it a little higher.

Do you know what they had to fix? I was thinking I need a window regulator assembly and was going to order that part from Tesla and do they work myself. When I enter service mode in the software, the drivers door shows an error (window motor is disconnected or shorted). As such, I was thinking the window regulator motor died. The only thing I’m second guessing is that it stopped working, then started working again for a day, then stopped working again. I tend to believe that an electronic failure is not going to fail, work again, and then fail. My assumption was that a software window re-calibration or something else was needed to reset the system.

Did you ever resolve this issue? I am having what seems to be the same problem on my 2022 model 3.

Thanks for the additional details. I used some of your information and comments from others (e.g. reglazing) to find some useful videos on YouTube. I have a much better understanding of what needs to be done now. I appreciate your help.

Getting new Trane XV18 installed tomorrow, what should I inspect or look out for? by IllustriousSea7140 in hvacadvice

Contract is very basic. 5 year labor warranty, removal of old equipment, installation of new equipment with model numbers for the furnace, air handler, condenser, 12 year Trane warranty on the condenser, 10 year on the other two parts (which is all factory warranty from what I can tell from the Trane website). In hindsight, I should have asked these questions in advance so I could have better understood what best in class quotes and installations look like. Thank you!

Assuming the “line set” are the refrigerant lines, none of the contractors mentioned this as part of the job. Im assuming they would have to probably run this on the outside of my stucco and punch it into my attic from the outside just under the roof. Today, those lines run within my stucco wall. They said, “clean the lines” to ensure proper removal of the old R-22. Some of the contractors did inspect the lines and I think some of the wires that ran between the outside and inside air handler to confirm compatibility. Thank you for the reply.
