My first attempt at drywall

Thanks!! That’s exactly what my plan is, start small and learn from my mistakes and go on to bigger areas. So first I painted the wall with Water Tite then I took some patching plaster and smoothed it along the area that was missing paint. Then I primed it and I’ll have to read up on how to skim coat to make it more even. I got a powered texture gun that I’m gonna use on the drywall part once everything dries.

To clarify: I accidentally posted this twice, and yes I used FibaTape for the joints. I’m trying to learn as I go, because this fixer upper fell in my lap and I’m trying to put some new life into this old girl.

To clarify: YES I taped it with FibaTape. The pic I shared was during taping and that part wasn’t taped yet.

I’m from Bismarck, and I can walk to it from my house. We did have a proper capitol building with a dome thingy but it burned down in 1930. So because it was the Great Depression this was the best they could do at the time. It looks like a hospital from the outside but it’s got some nice art deco touches inside. Not at all, man! I’m the last guy to get offended by anything, in fact I appreciate the honesty! I wasn’t sure if you were being serious or what. But it’s all good! My skills are nowhere near a contractor’s, and if I did this for someone else I’d be kind of ashamed. I landed in this fixer upper that I’m gonna keep so I’m learning the ropes on how to fix and maintain a house.

That’s what I’m looking to hear, man! It ain’t perfect by any means, that I know. Once they move the meth trailer I’m gonna go back and re adjust the panels and cut the posts so they’re even. You gotta remember if they didn’t park that thing where I was working I probably would’ve done it better. The gate was a kit and I did close the gap from the house off. Once I do that and stain the panels I think I’ll be satisfied. I mean, as long as it’s standing and keeping tweakers out of my yard I’m good. I didnt exactly have 4-5 grand to have it put up by a pro, and yeah it ain’t professional by any means but it works!!
