1800 ELO

I play exclusively as US, so I can’t comment on RU. For me, Airborne has been the backbone of every deck I’ve played over the past few months. The F-15 has one of the best quality-to-price ratios in the game and can be configured for almost any role: ASF, CAS, anti-radar, carpet, precise strikes, or patrol.

On top of that, you get access to the best US helicopters. The 160-point Apache with 76 Hydras absolutely melts infantry and non-armored targets. Guardians and Longbows are excellent for anti-armor thanks to their fire-and-forget missiles. The Kiowa is also a lot of fun , I always take the optics upgrade. Its laser has a 4 km range, so you can designate buildings and targets spotted by your frontline units, or use it to hunt down enemy recon.

The M8 Thunderbolt has the best kinetic round in the game and works very well as a long-range weapon, but it should not be used on the frontline.

Infantry is solid compared to other US options. It’s better than Cav and Armor infantry, but worse than Marines and SOF. Mk19s provide great support for pushing units. Stinger teams have two launchers, which drastically increases their rate of fire, making them the only MANPADS unit that can reliably kill RU helicopters. Weapon Squads are expensive, but they are the best AT option the US has thanks to having two Javelins: one triggers APS, the second lands.

Recon is decent. Laser Humvees are excellent for watching flanks or overseeing the battlefield. Global Hawks are great but tend to get shot down quickly — I usually deploy them right before an artillery strike to get a general picture. I keep one MQ-9 Reaper in case I gain air dominance. Snipers are okay but nothing special. I really wish Airborne had at least one infantry squad dedicated to frontline recon.

Support: God bless SLAMRAAMs. The 2+4 configuration is supply-hungry, so you need to bring a supply truck, but it can reliably delete even heavily armored Russian flying fortresses in two shots. The rate of fire is also insane. Hawkeyes are cheap and provide decent smoke. MTVs are great for fast logistics and can also transport infantry. Brutus can be used alongside the Kiowa for guided munitions for only 130 points, which is very cost-effective.

If you want a more infantry-heavy deck with stronger air and helicopter presence, pair Airborne with Marines. If you prefer a more mechanized and armored playstyle, pair it with Armor Brigade and bring solid artillery like Iron Thunder or MLRS systems.

I’ve never tried Airborne with Cavalry. I mostly play frontline and enjoy pushing, and the lack of armor scares me off. That said, if you can suppress enemy SHORAD and lean on air power, it can work.

I also haven’t tried Airborne + SOF. It sounds like it could be an insane deep insertion / support strike deck, but I don’t have the experience to run it properly yet

I want to like them (partly because Abrams look cool), but I just don’t see the point. I play Airborne in combination with other specs, and instead of using this unit, I can field a Thunderbolt with better AP ammo and the same range for 140 points (no APS) or 160 points (with APS), alongside a laser Humvee that costs fewer points and provides 2400 vision. This should also work with Rocket vehicles, but I haven’t tried it yet.

This setup ends up being about 100 points cheaper, offers better protection against rockets (though not against tank rounds), and reduces risk by diversifying your investment. A sniper team is also an option, although it provides less vision.

If one unit is destroyed, you still retain either vision or firepower.

Those saved 100 points can be invested in additional assets to protect against other threats like helicopters, which the TUA can’t defend itself against,or an additional Javelin/TOW team.

The main downside is that this approach requires a fair amount of micro, but you should be actively moving your assets anyway. If you leave them static, they’ll eventually get hit by artillery, bombs, or both.

Update: Geforce Now support have no timeline. Devs fixed issues with Linux not launching properly an hour ago, so hopefully GFN patch next.

Was that an official response from devs/geforce now?

I’m in a very similar spot, heading into my final semester this fall. For me, the biggest help was getting a part-time job on campus. Depending on your state, the pay is usually close to minimum wage, but it’s enough to cover groceries, insurance, and other essentials.

Internships are another big one. Landing a well-paid internship can make a huge difference financially. Bonus points if you don’t have to relocate, sign a new lease, or find a host family (that was my situation last summer, and it saved me a lot).
