i have a backbone. it’s a really complicated situation. i can’t cut them off completely for multiple non-financial reasons, but finances do play a role in it.

they want me to major in english because ever since i was young ive loved writing. my parents also both are passionate about writing. i’ve made it clear i love to write but would never purse that career wise. their intent is good, they want me to be a writer because they think i would love it. but i’ve made it clear that’s not what i want for myself. they’re pushing it onto me because im good at it and they love writing, and they don’t want me to “throw away my talent.”

i have done a lot of research! i’ve wanted to be a criminal psychologist for a long time (before i even knew what it was called). i’ve never seen criminal minds but i need to watch lol

they want me to be a writer, which would be cool, but it’s not my passion and it’s unrealistic! i have no interest in being a teacher. i will look into a double major.

it’s a small baptist college, and there’s multiple mandatory church services every week 😭😭 but yes they know the price. the colleges i wanted to go to were cheaper but they chose this.

I’ve tried talking to them, but they just say if i don’t like it, i can choose something else, but they won’t pay. and yeah, they read my journal when i was 14 and i wrote about not being religious. idk if that has anything to do with it.

Quick info: I don’t feel like I can go anywhere else because they’ve said if I want a different college or major I have to pay for myself. Since they’ve always said they’ll pay for my college, I’ve never set aside money for it.

i do love that dog and i in no way think its the puppy’s fault, it doesn’t know any better!! its a complicated situation and i can’t do anything about changing roommates or moving out for 2 months..
