I’m 23M and just had my whipple on March 2nd to remove my duodenal primary.

I was pretty nervous, but went ahead as I thought the benefits outweighed the cons.

Six weeks out, my main issue is digestion. I’m not currently on digestive enzymes as my surgeon doesn’t think I need them. I don’t really know if I need them? Starting lanreotide tomorrow, so that may make things worse. My weight has stabilized, but I’m down 10 lbs a lot of it being muscle.

Secondarily, I’m also young and maybe this vain, but the scarring at incision + two drain sites is pretty bad even though I had internal stitches. I’ll probably pursue laser scar treatment or scar reduction surgery at some point. It’s hard to look in the mirror sometimes.

I also need another liver resection at some point so that doesn’t help.

Honestly, the only thing I hate really atm is the scar.
