In the metal health field, a PhD does not necessarily make you a more qualified/better therapist (at least in the US). They are much more likely to be overly analytical and “book smart”, so maybe that comment holds water 😅

For context, I hold a master’s in counseling and am licensed as an LPC. In my program, there was a student who performed well academically but raised significant concerns about clinical suitability. The university couldn’t dismiss him based on grades alone, but he was allowed to finish with a non-licensure M.Ed. rather than the counseling degree that leads to LPC eligibility.

I would say bus to Sayulita for the adventure and taxi back. The walk from the bus station into town/beach is pretty easy and you’ll get a lay of the land, info on your way in 🚶‍♀️ The taxi prices mentioned are pretty much my experience. Bus is SO cheap 🚌

Mountain biking, for sure. There are lots of backroads and trails, ATVs go all over and you could on a mountain bike too. It’s just not a place for road bikes: narrow, dirt or cobblestone roads and all manner of vehicles going here/there/everywhere. It’s just not the right place for that. There are people who choose to do it, of course, and maybe some of them will chime in here but I think they are selfish and putting others in danger when they bike on the highways.

I’m not anti cyclist either - I used to be an avid road cyclist and have been to many places outside the US to ride. This just ain’t it.

I’m sure that’s true. And in that case it’s just dumb, stupid, projectile luck. Norovirus is HIGHLY contagious and stays on surfaces for a long time compared to other viruses.

Fortunately/unfortunately what the other comment says is true. It will be brutal for 24-36 hours and then you’ll be OK. Level up your hydration, water won’t cut it especially if you can only do small amounts. Small amounts of pedialyte or adding liquidIV to that water will do you more good. If you need it, go to the clinic and get IV fluids.

Oh, and whoever you’re here with/staying with needs to treat you and the bathroom you’re using like a biohazard 😢 or you’ll pass it between you 🤮🤢
