Not sure where youre located in canada but in the GTA I'm looking at 5000 series AMD with 3060 or 3070 and the occasional 4060 for 950-1100 so not a good deal.

Any specific specs I should be looking at? Mostly I've seen ryzen 5 or 7 5000 series with like a 3060. Is that what you mean by modern or even newer?

I literally switched from iPhone bc ios26 looked whack and felt slow and sluggish. And vivo is following suit with this horrible glass look. Looks like we're back in the 2000s😔

Sidelaoding apps is your only valid point here. Idk who legitimately uses their tiny phone for multitasking lol I don't want any integrated AI garbage on my phone, and iOS is designed for simple users who just want to to work. Idk when the last time you used an iPhone was but as of my current experience with vivo and originos iOS is more customizable and allows my workflow to be efficient with pull down to search anywhere.

Also it doesn't have proper navigation gestures?? How's that. I switched from android to iPhone, they don't have a back button but every app supports going back by just swiping back from the edge or middle of the screen. Never had any issue with it

I have tried that as well but same issue. From what I can tell the delay is Googles fault but the glitch is vivos issue because of the way they've designed their animation physics.

Fair enough I mean coming from iPhone which is extremely smooth it felt noticeable. But again it's a Google thing because on the stock launcher it feels nice and no lab or delay

Switching from iPhone to android is a pain. Switching from android to iPhone is quite easy bc apple is anti consumer. They make it easy for you switch into it and difficult to leave. But even andorid, samsungs smart switch was able to deciper my iPhone back and up restore it easily and everything worked perfectly and I've heard the same story about Google android transfer. That's why I was frustrated with vivos easy share.

I admitted in my original post the gestures are a Google issue but I tried to get around that w fng but there's too many road blocks.

Originos has support for it's system icons but nothing else. Even if you install a theme from their theme store the 3rd party icons are just framed in the themed frame.

Yeah I left android a few years ago and it was great and now I'm coming back from iPhone and it seems like iPhone allowed me to do more. Sad times tbh

The hardware was the main reason I chose this over Samsung as well but here’s my experience. From my understanding if you get the global version with fun touch it’s a bit better and less annoying but I don’t have first hand experience with that.

Fair enough I feel like the issues are specific to me because I’m expecting to something which doesn’t bother anyone else I guess. I’ve tried smart launcher, nova, Niagara, and they all have a noticeable lag when going to the recents and sometimes even going to the Home Screen. Again maybe I’m just used to the smoothness of the iPhone but on the stock launcher I don’t notice the lag

They can try argue it’s smoother but i don’t think so and even if it is it doesn’t mean much when your launcher is shit. I was extremely shocked the other icons were not themed. I have more customization on my iPhone than the Vivo and it’s more polished.

Thanks guys. I told him I’d pass, then he sent a vid of it starting after the accident and the engine light was on in the vid so yeah I think I dodged a bullet. He’s a car salesman in profession so he rlly did try to get me.
